Wonderful serendipitous discovery. It was nice that there were still a few blackberries to pick on the way in. Very serene, and lovely hearing and seeing birds darting about. Apparently the sequoias were planted here (and other state forests) early last century in trials to work out what would be suitable for forest farming. Even though I guess this variety is probably not considered economically useful (being slow growing) it's a nice legacy.

Difficult to find unless you know of the place, once there you take a small trail for about 100m among a normal forrest and then all of sudden these massive trees are in front of you, very impressive and you almost have them for yourself!

This place lives up to its name. A small grove of trees that transports you to another land. Young children can let their imagination take over and have grand adventures.Fairly easy to get to but you will need some basic navigation skills or Google maps will get you there.Highly recommended.Ps. The redwood leaves will get stuck in your dogs coat if you take them.

This place is incredible! My kids loved seeing the huge trees and had so much fun building shelters with the fallen branches. Please note there are no toilet facilities available, so I would recommend stopping for a pitstop being going out to the Magic Forest.

Beautiful, tranquil, The sounds of abundance of bird life, The sounds of the 9 mile stream,Easy walk into the beautiful redwood forest. Fungi galore of all different colours, Very mystical, Something so calm and peaceful, feels like you are hidden away from the world.

This is a hidden gem. Google the location and when you arrive follow the well worn uphill path rather than a road. Road in is fine for ordinary sedans.
