This is truly the gem in the NT's crown. An historical building right in the heart of the city. Usually it is closed to the public, so this visit was very special. Absolutely beautiful and I wished it was open to the public more often and I'm grateful I got to see it.

Always worth a visit if you get the chance. Popped in Last Weekend to sign condolences for Prince Philip. Had not been inside the hallowed portals for few years. Amazing it survived the Bombing of Darwin AND Cyclone Tracey.

Not open to the public generally save for special open days. Beautiful historic building which survived in part from the bombing of Darwin and cyclone Tracey. Fantastic gardens full of rare specimens from over the globe. Home of the Administrator of the NT. Visit of you get the chance.

This was a real bonus, after we left the WW2 tunnels and went discovering, to find that last Friday & Saturday, it was Open to the Public (only 2 days each year). We had a stroll through the house, which is beautiful, then a stroll around the stunning gardens with ocean views. Followed this with live music and afternoon tea supplied by a local Boy Scout group. We even managed to meet The Administrator (Governor) and his partner. A lovely surprise.

Coronation Gala sadly was not a good event. The wonderful Band of 1st Brigade played while the fabulous singing was happening, but muted, in Westminster Abbey. Poor choice of food caravan, Spanish - no other choice. No champagne for toasts. Altogether quite an ordinary event, we left early to rush home to watch on our TV. Should have been the day before or day after.
