Peter from Cool it Electrical and Air Conditioning serviced our air conditioner in Feb 2022. As we were satisfied with his service, we did not hesitate to call him this year as our air conditioner stopped working.Two young guys came out to have a look at our unit on 1 Feb 2023 and advised they could not fix it as they did not have the part. They said Peter will have to provide us with a quote on the repair. After a couple of days,Peter had still not sent us a quote and as the weather was going to get extremely hot over the next few days, we were eager to have air conditioning. I phoned, texted and emailed Peter for the quote. When he did email a quote, it was for a different customer! He eventually provided us with a quote and as it was not cost effective to fix it so we agreed to replace the unit.Peter purchased the unit and we agreed for him to install it on Tuesday 21 Feb. We immediately paid Peter the 50% deposit as he requested.Peter’s wife rang me on Monday 20 Feb. As I was at work, I could not answer the phone, but I quickly rang my husband and asked him to ring Peter. Peter wanted to know if it would be possible for them to come out on that day instead. My husband agreed.The two young guys came out about an hour later. As Peter had previously advised my husband that the pipes would have to be changed, my husband was a bit concerned when the two guys said they would not be changing the pipes. After discussions with Peter, they advised my husband they would not be able to install the unit after all as they did not have the pipes. Peter then contacted my husband to advise that the earliest they can come again would be Thursday 23 Feb. My husband advised Peter that this was not good enough as we work and cannot just keep changing our schedule. Peter advised that we should then find another installer. My husband agreed. Peter said he would send us an invoice for the balance of the unit which we immediately paid upon receipt of the invoice.We are disappointed that we wasted more than three weeks following up with Peter . We should have realised that he was not very reliable when he sent us a quote for another customer!We are also disappointed that the unit was not able to be installed at the agreed time/date because of their lack of organisation. In addition upon contacting a number of installers to obtain quotes for the installation, they all advised that the pipes would have to be changed! So we are not quite sure why Cool it Electrical wanted to install the air conditioner with the existing pipes! Will definitely not be using again.
