Waves & Wildlife Cottages Kangaroo Island

We loved our stay at Waves & Wildlife. Every night the kangaroos come to feed in front of the cottages...the beach is a short walk away...the views are spectacular. Kangaroo Island is not a cheap place to stay, but at W&W you are self contained and you can have breakfast and dinner and either pack a lunch or eat out while exploring. We stayed a week here and were so glad we did. It's a big island and Stokes Bay is pretty much in the middle. We just picked a place each day to visit but always came home to a peaceful, spot with wildlife all around us. The owners are very friendly and helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to come back. With so many options to choose from I'm glad I did enough research to finally choose these cottages for our holiday.

It's a beautiful place, located on the cliff over looking Stokes Bay. Our cottage was surrounded by so many Kangaroos and wildlife. The cottage was clean and cosy, with spectacular ocean view in the living room. Every morning we were greeted by lovely kangaroos, and at night the possum would knock on our window. Walking up the hill in front of our cottage, we enjoyed the beautiful view of Stokes Bay. At night, the starry sky was just remarkable. Waves and Wildlife is definitely a perfect place to stay when visiting KI. It's a great place to get away from city life and enjoy the nature.

We booked 5 nights at Waves and Wildlife Cottages and we couldn't choose a better place! If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, this is the perfect getaway!!Our cottage was spacious, clean and comfortable and it had all you need for a great stay. There is plenty of kangaroos around the cottages and they come very close to the cottages. You can seat in the verandah and have dinner at sunset while enjoying their company.Paul is a great host, nice and friendly. He let us feed the kangaroos, the lamb and he also showed us his reptiles. He accomodated all our requests and he also gifted us with a bottle of wine and a small pot of honey at our arrival!!The Cottages are located very close to Stokes Bay which is probably the most beautiful beach on the island...if you know how to reach it :)We were lucky to have a close encouter with a seal and dolphins one morning at the beach!!From Stokes Bay you can also easily visit all the Island which is slowly recovering from the 2020 fires.We will definitively come back!Thanks Paul for everything and we wish you all the best!!

Cozy cottage with wild kangaroos right outside your window. It also has an amazing view over the Stokes Bay. Our family stayed for 3 nights and we did not want to leave. My colleague recommended this place to me and now I am going to recommend it to everyone who wants to visit Kangaroo Island. ❤️❤️❤️

A very unique and unforgettable experience. We had a pleasant three nights stay in a self contained 3 bedroom cottage. The place was very spacious and fully furnished with all the essential amenities.Walkable distance to the Rockpool Cafe and Stokes Bay Beach, one of the best beaches on the entire island. Amazing sunset views in our very own backyard.Paul was an friendly, excellent and an amazing host, who gave us the opportunity to feed about fifty Kangaroos at a time right behind our back verandah. Would not stay anywhere else on the island if we had the opportunity to come back. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Kangaroo Island.

Great views from the front verandah of our unit. Great place to stay and explore the rest of Kangaroo Island. The owners are friendly and easy going. Would thoroughly recommend for short or long stay.

Located near the stokes bay , the cottage is suitable for honeymoon couple , familyy and friends gathering .the cottage is very comfortable will full furnished kitchen and necessary utensils. All you need to carry are the required grocery as you don't have any cafe / shops in the surroundings (atleast for 20 kms). Evenings are the best in waves and wildlife cottage as you see lottsa kangaroos and wallabies running all around , you also get to feed them ,as kangaroos will be your regular visitors !!

Waves & Wildlife is the place to stay when visiting the island. Paul & Katja run a wonderful place with the chalets fully kitted out; just bring your family and enough food and drinks, the rest is all there.It is very central to all sites on the island and you can get to either the east or west in a few hours and the south coast sites are just over the hill".There is nothing more relaxing that coming back at the end of a day traversing the island and then sitting on the deck of the chalet watching the sunset over Stokes Bay while the kangaroos play on the grass in front of you and enjoying the glorious peace and quiet along with your favourite tipple.Highly recommended we have been back three time."

Everybody in our group agree that it is worth to come over the kangaroo island to just stay at this place. We enjoyed the days in this waves & wildlife cottage surrounded by many kangaroos. One of my friend who lived more than 40 years in Australia said she never seen so many kangaroos before come here. We are absolutely satisfied by the location, accessability, environment, and service of this cottage. Definitely recommended.

Great place to get away from main tourist spots, lovely views, so much wildlife on your doorstep. Cottage clean and has everything needed for holiday. If you want peace and quiet, this is just right. Great walks.
