What an amazing little gem located at the Paris end of Potts Point !!My friends took me here for my birthday and it was just perfect. The food is traditional French cuisine at its best. The team is really friendly, knowledgeable and they deliver great service. The Garlic Prawns and the twice baked French Onion Soufflé were my favourite Entrées. For main, the Chateaubriand for 2 to share is one of the best steaks you can get in Sydney. It comes with Greens Beans, Chunky Potato and a delicious Béarnaise sauce. Finally, for dessert I couldn't resist their Chocolate Fondant, simply divine. An experience I won't forget. I will definitely be back !

A meretricious little restaurant at the bottom end of Potts Point. The soufflé was the highlight. The Steak Frites was poor, the steak was chewy and tasteless. The profiteroles were, perhaps not as fresh as they could have been. The whole experience was a bit like my School reports, shows promise but not delivering.

First of all, I don’t normally write reviews about places I eat. However, this one is definitely a worthy mention.I am visiting Sydney for the first time from the USA and I was in search for an amazing French restaurant. Upon checking a few places online and reading reviews, I came across what is now in my opinion the best French restaurant I’ve ever tried.Once I tasted the dirty grey goose martini made by Mr Stefano I knew the dining experience at MacLeay Bistro was going to surpass my expectations. The salmon tartare was so fresh and hit all the right the notes that tingled all my tastebuds. The garlic prawns bisque was an absolute hit, especially with my partner. We loved it!The oysters were delicious and tasted fresh as the ocean. The triple-baked soufflé was to die for. It was creamy, rich and better than any other soufflé I’ve tasted before. After all this delicious food, we couldn’t wait to taste our main courses. Mr Stefano once again recommended something divine. I went with the Salmon and I was happy I did. The skin was crispy and the salmon was melting in my mouth. My partner decided to go with the Eye fillet that was cooked to perfection. We had so much fun and are so much, unfortunately there was no room for dessert. But, I guess it’s a good thing, because we have a reason to come back as soon as possible. The staff was super friendly, professional and really enhanced our fine-dining experience. Needless to say, we highly recommend you trying MacLeay St Bistro. Be sure to tell Mr Stefano “ciao” and enjoy your experience. Cheers

Excellent food and service. BYO and free corkage is a major positive. Only negative is that it did not have any vegetarian mains but otherwise great place to dine in Potts Point, particularly if you want to BYO wine.

Macleay Street Bistro located in the ‘Paris’ end of Potts Point, is a local favourite & a true traditional Bistro. Each and every dish was cooked to perfection! The french onion soup was great, along with the pan rendered fillet of duck breast. Notably, the Chateaubriand, a French classic, was sublime - it was juicy, so tender it melted in my mouth and absorbed all the flavours from the Béarnaise sauce ✨

This is it! Absolutely amazing French food, everything we ate was stunning. The staff mixed the Beef Tartare ingredients in front of us, making the dish extra special. The eye fillet was 100% the king of the night. Creme Brulee was perfect and made with real vanilla beans.
