Walked in after 2pm for lunch and was told we don't do lunch here, just seems to be a place where the locals rock up to get hammered

Ive read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews and thankfully ignored them. This was a great little pub restaurant- my chicken schnitzel was perfectly cooked with a great selection of accompanying vegetables and excellent value for money. Service was prompt and friendly. Do yourself a favour and try it!

We called in here to watch the footy and have a beer and something to eat after a big day at port arthur historic site.I would have to say this was the rudest and most arrogant service i have ever seen anywhere.I would not recommend stopping here as the little grey haired man made us feel like we ruined his day by having a beer.0.5/10 rating.The 0.5 was for the cold beer.Rubbish attitude.

After reading all the reviews i thought hey ill give this place a shot.. wish i hadnt.. ordered chicken carbonara look like penne soup overloaded with cheese, also the steak sandwich that was poor at the best, staff seemed friendly but there organisation skills and knowledge of there own menu was terrible.. all and all if theres somewere else open to eat go there (this was a sat night) were 99% of business make money.. also toilets looked like they hadnt been cleaned in years

This Tavern is quite old inside, but clean with a lovely fire to keep us warm. We were really happy with the friendly staff and the fast service. Upon arrival we were told there were no oysters (which we weren't fussed about). But also told there was no breads... Again not a problem for us, but I was quite surprised to go to a Tavern that didn't have any garlic bread on offer!! The kids meals were substantial. Very generous serving. My husband and I chose to get the seafood platter for two. As you can see from this pic the serving is absolutely HUGE!! Everything was delicious, we were a little thrown by a long dark hair we found... But you know... Sometimes we have to look past these things.

Ring ahead if you would like a meal as the restaurant was closed and had not been open for sometime.All good we settled for a beer instead and continued on our way.

Dreadful!!!!Shuts at 6pm, no meals.Stale beer from the tap. Scoffed at when asked for a pint- we only do schooners". Rude eye rolling staff who clearly don't want you to be there. I'm stumped as to how this place affords to keep the lights on. Such a shame as it could be a successful and well supported place! Nubeena is a miserable hole."
