Alex very kindly accommodated us today for a wine tasting (despite not being officially open). Everything was delicious and he is clearly passionate about what he does. Can definitely see why it is highly rated for a wedding venue! Thanks for having us :)

Wow. My wife and I went to the wine bar for a pre-game glass of Shiraz before the Swans game. Initially looking for just a decent glass of wine we were extremely impressed to learn that this is an actual working winery located in the heart of the city!Not only are the wines absolutely beautiful, this is where the wine is actually made using grapes sourced from various cold climate regions in NSW. There are winery tours, blending master classes, cellar door sales and wine tasting experiences all available. ....They even hire the venue for wedding and corporate team building days!I was lucky enough to meet the chief winemaker Alex Retief who was a wealth of knowledge on all things wine. Alex was very approachable and you could tell how honestly passionate he is about NSW wines and produce just by talking to him. This will be my new choice of venue to taste and drink wine but I am really looking forward to my booked master blending class next week.Pro Tip: Make sure you try the charcuterie board!

I'm not a wine drinker if I'm honest, but I quite liked this place. Looks great, the setup is very nice. Well decorated with some very nice touches. Nice staff. Plenty of space inside. Some beers were also available on tap, for those of you like me who needed to wash the wine taste away.

I just wanted to thank everyone at the Urban Winery Sydney from the bottom of my heart.Our engagement party was absolutely incredible, I couldn't have topped it in anyway.A huge thank you to Angus and the bar staff they were on the ball all night with huge smiles & so friendly, constantly serving and walking / delivering and collecting - I feel like they didn't get a break, so a massive thank you to them.Thank you to the events team for organising the event and all the following up & patience with us!Thank you to owner ALEX - Every single person was in awe of the venue, honestly couldn't have been happier.A of course a HUGE THANK YOU to Ondria for supervising the event, you were amazing I am so thankful you guided the night because time got away so quickly. Their wine stomping event during March is an absolutely incredible experience! The ticket includes a glass of wine on arrival, tour of their winery, a chance to taste wines in their different stages, the opportunity to actually stomp on wine grapes, a delicious grazing board at the end and a bottle of wine to take home. It’s honestly such a great deal. Plus, the owner is so knowledgeable and welcoming we felt comfortable asking questions and participating throughout the 2 hours we were there. Will definitely be back for more of their events!

I did a cocktail reception live wedding painting here as a surprise gift from the bride's sister. She asked me to paint the couple dancing among their guests with the live band in the background. We were very well taken care of by the coordinator and the staff - the food was AMAZING. I was able to set up pretty comfortably in view of the dancefloor and the guests (and band members!) were able to watch me paint and say hello.

We had our wedding reception at Urban Winery on the weekend and it was just the most magical evening. Anna and Ondria made us feel so comfortable and at ease the whole process from viewing the venue to booking, wine tasting and all the smaller details that led up to the big day and the night itself was an absolute dream come true. So many were blown away by this hidden gem of a venue and we just had so much fun making it even more magical than it naturally is.The food was SENSATIONAL as was the wine and all the team who worked hard on our day, thank you a million times!

Recently held my wife’s 30th birthday here, cocktail style and the whole event was absolutely amazing.This is the second event we’ve held here and the whole team were awesome. Anna and Ondria helped make everything work and run smoothly for the planning and on the evening. Beth the event manager for the evening was amazing and made everything happen and as we wanted. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and her whole team were wonderful on the evening. Couldn’t recommend the urban winery highly enough for any function.

This grape stomping experience was a gift from our daughter to me and my husband. After parking nearby (two hours free), we were greeted by a tall and gorgeous young man in makeup and a dress. He was very friendly and helpful. We immediately felt that this business invited and appreciated diversity. Our group was six people and Alex was a knowledgeable and personable guide. He explained everything about the business and its wine-making, and showed us exactly the origin of his grapes. It was fascinating! The stomping experience was great fun and we felt well-cared-for as seniors. This event, especially during the grape harvesting season of March or thereabouts, is highly recommended by me snd my husband as something unique, interesting and enjoyable. Do come and experience it!
