When I called Adam and explained that I was struggling to get people to quote for my very simple fence and explained it seemed no one wanted to work he said he get's many calls like that. He was around that afternoon and followed up with the quote that night! impressive. In the end the other guys quotes came in but I shouldn't have bothered Adam's quote was the lowest by far. The job was fantastic, Adam very responsive to calls and questions - great service! He even helped with our difficult conversations with our neighbor in the end taking over the conversations with them to come to a positive result for all. Adam and P and P are all class. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I would like to pass on my recent experience with PNP Fencing in the hope that it may assist others considering their services.Adam [PNP Fencing] quoted to install a timber paling fence on my property in Newport. It was approximately 12 metres of fencing along one side boundary of my property. This also included 2 gates; 1 single gate & 1 double gate. The majority of the fence is installed along the fall of a steep block of land. The first alarm bell rang when Adam told me the holes for the fence posts were dug within only an hour or so after his arrival on the first day. Upon inspection, I could see the holes were barely 30 to 40cm deep at best, when I raised my concern to Adam that the holes were not deep enough his response was that they’ll be fine because “All the posts tie into one another by the fence”. Whilst I acknowledge that may be true to some degree, I told him that my concern was we get very strong winds on the mountainside & the fence may not hold. He still didn’t dig the holes any deeper. The 2nd alarm bell rang when I noticed the odd way in which he concreted the posts in. He basically threw in dried chunks of concrete mix (rocks) then proceeded to water them in with the hose. I couldn’t believe it! The next day I was able to remove the concrete rocks by hand. I then re-concreted them properly myself. See the photo for an example of this concreting work. However, with that said, I think the most alarming thing was that when he installed the palings, he didn’t start at one end (or at the gate) & work his way along to the other end. He started installing the palings in the centre of the fence section so that when he got to the end (next to the gate) there was a small gap, which he “fixed” by putting a paling over the top of the adjoining palings to cover the gap. When I asked him to fix it, he just cut a paling to fit into the narrow gap. When I asked him why didn’t he start installing the palings from one end (as that’s what I would have done), his response was “that’s what I would have done too” (placing the blame on his junior offsider).Just finally, he had also quoted to remove an old gate & replace it with a new gate on another boundary. The old gate had timber posts that were concreted into the ground (soil). When he inspected that part of the job on the day of installation he commented that he wanted to use the existing timber posts for the new gate because they would be impossible to remove. I didn’t want to reuse those posts as they were not level or straight & they also didn’t match the rest of the new fencing which has steel posts. I could tell by his response that the real issue was that he was just trying to finish the job quickly & didn’t want to take the time to remove the posts. So, I removed the posts for him within an hour or so using my small demolition hammer drill. He didn’t thank me or offer me any discount for doing his work! There were several other issues also but I think I’ve said enough with the above.

Didn't respond to emails.Never returned phone calls or texts.Didn't show up to an arranged appointment.Had no interest in rescheduling a new meeting.Understand many trades are busy at the moment, but at least have the courtesy to respond to people. It's common courtesy and good business.

Adam and his team were fantastic. Our yard is difficult (battle axe block) Adam was one of the fewCompanies who actually turned up to quote! Ours was an insurance job and Adam was patient with multiple questions from the insurance company. Fencing is always interesting with multiple neighbors involved and Adam managed these relationships brilliantly. The job is complete - it looks fantastic. We couldn’t be happier. Thanks Adam (and team)!

Adam and his team from Pillar & Post were fantastic! It’s the second time I have used Adam and once again was impressed by the quality work performed that had a few complex work arounds.I initially had a 50 mtr Pailing fence installed down the side of the property and then out front a Hampton style picket fence. The team were hard working, diligent and pay close attention to detail so the fence lasts the distance of the decades!Appreciate the great job!KristianWahroonga
