Gooseponds Dog Park
Large parklands, well maintained, with large amounts of water birds. Nice pathway to walk around and shade.

Nice and shady dog park. Bit bigger area and higher fencing would be better.

Considering the localised rain, the dog park was reasonably dry. It was good to let the dogs have a run while we are travelling. Toys provided by council but we always take our own anyway.

This park is also known as John Breen park or centenary place, depending on who you ask. There are lots of colourful playground equipment for little kids to play on, my kids love the flying fox, seesaw and the large rope climber. There is also an outdoor skating rink, skateboard bowl, outdoor gym, covered picnic tables and BBQ areas. Highly recommended place to host a birthday party for your kids as there is ample parking and so much to do for kids of all ages.Visit my facebook page mackay local for more great things to do and see while in mackay.

Gooseponds Dog Park
This dog park gets good use by the community. It has an agility course which I use to train my dog and the grounds are great for dogs to run and play. A seated area for owners is good and there is water and bowls available as well as balls for use. Unlike Queens Park dog park, where there are separate runs for large and small dogs, at North Mackay they all mix together.

Paths are rough and uneven in spots. Play equipment small and to one end. No path to central park play ground

Nice Dog Park for our pooches. Just be careful your dog doesn't eat the long black seeds coming from the Cassia tree. According to Mackay Regional Council the seeds are mildly toxic
