EDITING on the threat of legal action from the company.Facts:I contacted the company after someone recommended them on 27 January, both call and text. I received a response to my text saying they would be away until the Tuesday. That suited me so I thanked the person and said I was organising it for my father and that I do not live local. I also gave my email and my father’s address. I called several times, no response.2 February I texted after some calls again, I received a call on 6 February from the company saying they were on their way to my father’s place. I called my father and informed the company that my father was not home. NOTE: there was no prior warning and very short notice. A neighbour helped my father and showed the company around.7 February 8:55am I received a text from the company saying someone was on the way to my Dad’s place then. NOTE: this was not a prearranged time. My text response “Sure, I hope he’s up. Sorry, I live in XXXXXX, so I can’t just duck over”. I was being very accommodating as was my father because we wanted to go local and support a local business.9 February about 5pm, I received another text saying they would pop around to my father’s place at 8am the next morning. My response “ Hi XXX, I just called dad and that’s fine. Thanks so much. Nicole”. I’m still being cordial. I gave them my email again for the quote.16 February, I texted asking when I will receive the quote.27 February I received an email quote, this quote made me believe they did not want to do the job. Not only was the unit twice the size of the other quotes and over 1.5 times the price as a result. The quote did not break down the components, just a price. It did say that I should contact them if I had issues, I chose not to until I responded today. All quotes I received from other companies were itemised (what I expected) gave Unit numbers and clearly stated what was being done. All it said was it would be installed on a bracket and “full Installation and electricals” – what exactly does that mean? NOTE: This was over 1 month after my first contact.Given the amount of time and my extreme tolerance and patience for the last month I responded to the company with the following (salutations removed):I’m not quite sure how to take this quote, except as a joke. 7.1kw is overkill for a place as small as dads especially when every other company quoted half that size.This quote comes across like you don’t want to do the job which is ok, but as you know my father is elderly and has been left without air conditioning for weeks while we waited for your quote. It would have been better if you had been upfront from the beginning so we didn’t put my father’s health in jeopardy - he only just got out of hospital when I asked you for the quote.As I’m sure you can guess from the above, we have accepted a quote from a professional company. They have been easy to deal with.After writing the first review I received an email from the company, threatening me with legal action, calling my email and review rude etc all because I expressed my opinion based on the above facts. Although I admit I can be rude, all of my communications with the company have been pleasant, cordial and cognisant of it being a small local business. I wanted to go local small business, but this company has made me rethink doing that again.I cannot in all honesty change nor delete this review to something favourable just to avoid legal action, I can only make sure it is completely factual.I am very sorry to write this about a small business, but I am allowed to write a review based on my experience, even if that experience is a negative one.

After having a inspection from another provider, we were told we would need to replace our evap cooler. Lachie came and fixed the problem with our current cooler and did so within a very short timeframe. We are very greatful and will use this service again.

C & J air conditioning has always been great to deal with from maintaining our old evaporative unit to a full installation of our new refrigerative unit. Would highly recommend
