Belmont-Adamstown Rail Trail

15 km of bitumen track. Being an old rail line it has good gradients. Shared with cyclists and runners, the track covers wetlands and bush. Pretty cool.

Great shared pathway connecting Belmont to Redhead beach to Adamstown, incorporating a discontinued rail way. Great scenery, well maintained pathways, walk your dog, push prams, ride bikes, etc. 15km in length, can be done in sections.

Fantastic trail for walking or cycling. Belmont to Redhead is virtually flat. Redhead to Adamstown is a long slow climb. The tunnel approaching Adamstown is spectacular.

A great scenic cycleway with a gradual slope up to whitebridge and down the other side. The whole track is about 15km one way and a 30k round trip. You can walk or ride the track and you can go for as short or as long as you'd like with various points to start and finish. The track follows an old decommissioned train line and goes through wooded areas and also still includes some of the former train stations at intervals along the track with redhead and jewels being examples of this. The track is friendly and welcoming to all from the leisurely Sunday cyclist to the serious lycra clad MAMIL's (middle aged men in lycra) to the dog walkers to the distance runners this surfaced track welcomes all. Happy cycling, cruising, walking or running.

The Fernleigh track is a world class ride through bushland from Belmont into Newcastle. A great ride any time of day.

Such a beatiful trail! Now I know why it won 4 awards. Easy path for bikes, rollerblades, walk.. most of it is under trees shade so perfect even in sunny days. Promoting the historical reilway and the little paths to promote natives biology. Is very very nice walk!☆

This is our second time riding this track both times have been stunning. The first time was in the rain & im happy to say this time we got sun.This is a most do, easy ride for all ages
