Very insightful way to spend the morning

I have had the most incredible learning experience with Alexandra, the most impressive sustainable fashion teacher I could have possibly wished for. Alexandra is a knowledgeable, patient, and skilled educator.Her passion for sustainable fashion is so inspiring. You'll understand the critical role that sustainability in fashion plays in protecting the environment, thereby creating a more circular economy.Alexandra is particularly remarkable for her unique approach to teaching. She provides her students with a holistic learning experience, that captures essential concepts about the fashion industry’s environmental impacts, social justice impacts, and sustainable alternatives.During her classes, she effectively conveys confusing information about topics such as sourcing eco-friendly fabrics, sustainable practices at the point of manufacturing, and pre and post consumer practices in a way that is accessible to all of her students. She makes it clear that sustainable fashion is not a trend but rather, it is an essential shift that needs to be made in our industry.Sustainability is promoted in a course that became more than just classes. Alexandra brings it to life in various ways such as fashion projects related to up-cycling or thrift shopping and classwork that involves researching and reviewing fashion businesses that do implement sustainable practices that benefit not only people but also the environment hence making it the number one lesson.Alexandra also provides support and guidance to all her students, not undermining the doubts, and fears that could arise in this field made easier for her by expertly delving into any topics related to the needs of individuals.If you’re looking to gain a solid understanding of sustainable fashion and the changes the fashion industry needs to make, I wholeheartedly recommend Alexandra as a teacher. I took part in Alexandra’s very first ‘Eco fashion course’.For more then 4 months, we explored topics such as; colour combining, eco fabrics, flat drawings, designing our own harmonised collection, making patterns and then bringing the collection to life.Although I didn’t come out of the course being a professional seamstress like I had planned, I improved greatly, and learnt a lot on the way (including that pattern making isn’t my strong point but designing is- and now I am focusing on this).Alexandra was very professional, available, kind, but realistic, and it was obvious she has spent years in the industry.I loved spending two days a week being involved in my dream occupation, with a small team, learning and being creative.I believe this course was well worth my time and money, and I look forward to continue sewing lessons with Alexandra in the future.
