Tatry Ski Club

Tatry Ski Club is a solidly older lodge that has had major renovations it is nicely appointed with ensuite bathrooms in every room and huge floor to ceiling picture windows over the Alpine Valley below.

Well located accomodation and facilities were also good. Good check in/out system and communication.Paul and his wife were excellent lodge managers, who made our family feel welcome and were hospitable.We were fortunate to meet several members during our stay who were super friendly, helpful and shared the story of Tatry Ski Club and some of their cherished childhood memories.Unfortunately I have one negative experience to share. One of the Tatry adult members we encountered thought it was ok to stand closely to my daughter pointing her finger in my 14 year old daughters face. This member was scolding her telling her that she could not wear her shoes in the house (to clarify they weren’t ski or snow boots and weren’t wet). When I intercepted this inappropriate poor behaviour in the stairwell and told the member to refrain from speaking to my daughter like that she proceeded to tell me it was her house and if I didn’t like it I could leave. According to this member we all look alike.After the incident, Paul and other members came to our defence apologising for this members behaviour. We pointed out that we are happy to comply with house rules, but they needed to be consistent and clear for all members and non members (which the footwear rule is not). The delivery of the communication by this member felt like it was racially motivated, with entitled undertones and nothing but an exertion of power. It was inappropriate and highly distressing for my child.Aside from this, overall we enjoyed our stay, but not sure whether we would return based on this incident.Thanks Paul, his wife and to all the Tatry Ski Club members who made us feel welcome, irrespective of our social status or ethnicity.

Great community

Old alpine gem of My Buller

Being Polish, well we had to stay there while at Mt Buller. Comfy and homely.

Great place to stay in the off season as well, great views from the huge windows in the common area. The photo is the autumn sunset view from the windows.

My cladding crew and I stayed here for 3 weeks during the april- may period working on a project in Whitehorse Village. The lodge has a very cool history to it and is certainly a home feeling place to stay. A 1min walk to alpine hotel and 3min walk to kooroora pub also for meals. I imagine during winter season it would be an ideal location to the lifts etc. Thanks to Paul for organising this for us and the hospitality
