$130+ dollar mistake.Set menu only with poor tasting food that leaves you wanting more ( because you couldn't bare the putrid taste in your mouth any longer). Went home that night and ate cereal that tasted better.Drinks certainly were not included in the budget" option.Overall a funny story to tell friends and very telling that the owner is responding unprofessionally to all negative reviews.Drinks menu was good though."

We have been coming to Steam for a number of years and they produce amazing meals. It was extremely busy however the chefs and staff made sure we got our meals in prompt but unhurried timeframe as we had a show to got to down the road.This is the place for the best fresh oysters and great Asian food.

First time group of 6 diners. We opted for a banquet for a variety of tastings and it did not disappoint. Duck pancakes a favourite. Service was amazing and all staff were friendly. Great to see an upmarket fresh addition to the area. Will definitely be back.

Steam is an excellent place to get awesome service and delicious food. My partner and I couldn't have asked for anything better. We had the 9 course dinner with some cocktails. Thanks to the staff at steam for making our trip 5 stars!

Finding a place to celebrate my sisters birthday was easy. Steam has a cool international feel, caters for dietary needs, faces towards the beach for the evening sunset, and owned and run by a family, providing a personal yet professional service.

I recently went to Rye on a long weekend away and dined at Steam based on the great reviews. Unfortunately, we found Steam to be incredibly average with no stand out dishes (the food was very average) and a haphazard approach to food presentation. The restaurant was over priced for what we received and the quality. Solid meh.

I eat out a lot… this place is comfortably the worst experience I’ve had in a long time.No where does it say that the set menu is per table… when a friend & I wanted to have our own separate set menus we were told no it’s only per table as it to confusing for the kitchen.. we were starving and decided to order an extra Nasi Goreng for $25!!! (picture attached). The food was okay… not bad but not good. 2 dumpings, 1 boa, 2 very small pieces of Karage chicken & a curry with rice for $60. Joke. Worst value meals I’ve ever had. It’s actually $120 for 2 people. It’s very mediocre food for a very steep price.

We visited Steam on a Saturday night, with 5 girls. 2 of the waitresses that served us was (the 2 sisters) ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! However, we waited 2 hrs for all our food. They came 1 by 1 and it honestly was not worth the wait. The portion of the meals was VERY TINY for 5 girls. Our 2 last meals was the nasi goreng and the pad Thai was SO SALTY and SOUR! The price for the food was not worth the quality of it. We were very disappointed and asked what can be done. One of the sister was VERY nice and offered us another meal, however the owner was very careless. Overall, I would not recommend at all.

Just wanting to let everyone know that the Chefs that have been there for the past 10 years did finally finish up at the start of March, this is why there has been such a change in food, banquets, service & order.I just wanted to make sure people did not think it was the same people responsible for the current food.All the best to the new head chef.In saying this it would be appreciated if the new chef & the owners would stop putting down the old owner, chefs, staff and all the people that created & made Steam such a successful thriving business for the last 12 years as.Good luck to you all.
