Alpine Shire Council Visitor Information Centre

I went in at 9.30am Tuesday the 18th of September and spoke to the staff about what to do around the area for the week. They were so lovely and so incredibly helpful - they gave me some great ideas for some hikes and bike rides. I ended up doing everything they’d suggested and I had an absolute blast! I had the best week thanks to these lovely people, highly recommend!

They know what they’re talking about and have lots of advice on the mountains around and walks

The woman with the long brown hair was so helpful and her enthusiasm for Bright was infectious. We followed all her recommendations and really enjoyed our 4 days.

Not a lot of information on offer! We were asked twice when we were browsing if he could help us with anything. When we did want some information, they reply was gruff, not helpful and not friendly!

The most helpful and informative tourist information centre! We were truly impressed by the detailed information the young assistant offered us (sorry we can’t remember her name!) about Bright: walks, bike riding trails, local restaurants etc., and she also gave us lots of information about our next stop, King Valley. She’s a keeper!

We just popped in for some info about hiking and road conditions. We got so much help from a friendly woman at the counter.She gave examples of multiple hikes fitting to us. She also gave us good info about mountain conditions.This is how tourist information centers should be like!

Busy and clearly understaffed. The person we spoke to did not seem to have enough local knowledge. For example, that the Horn was closed all week on Mt Buffalo, or that Huggins Lookout was closed. Things I would expect the tourist information centre to know. Did not seem willing to make suggestions of things of interest.The bike map book was horrendous for the smaller rides, but good if you were a hard core mountain biker. The start of the trails were difficult to find and not explained well at all in the booklet, and no maps for the smaller shorter rides. . Disappointing for an area that is all about bikes.Usual pamphlets, fishing knowledge seems very limited.

Helen was just lovely and a pleasure to meet and talk to.So kind to my whole family.

Very helpful and informative. We asked what we could do to fill a day and some hiking tours in Mount Buffalo was recommended. Kids loved the Galleries and swim at the waterfall

Popped in maybe 20 mins ago and the lovely lady behind the counter - who's name I stupidly failed to catch - was an absolute fountain of both wisdom and knowledge. Good work. :)
