Really friendly staff and an impressive range. I got a beef and mushroom pie - it was OK, flavour was nice but there were no mushrooms and the pastry base wasn't cooked.Always worth stopping in to country bakery though!

Great pies great coffee open early.Note to folks from southern states there is a dress code. No shorts before noon. Especially in winter months :-)

If you're like me and want to try every pie shop that you come across in every town you pass through, then you would have to stop at the St George Bakery. They make some of the best pies that I've had for a long time - lots of meat and gravy filling plus the extra ingredient such as mushroom or onion if that's what you desire. The pies are not dry and most importantly the pastry is not thick. In addition the staff servicing behind the counter are extremely friendly. What more could you ask?
