Usually I don't share my age online, but I'm a current Year 12 Student (2023)After about one year of learning Japanese Continuers, among the most studied courses at NSL, I'm quite disappointed. Me and my friend, who were absolute nerds of Japanese (and the only two from our school to continue for HSC) lost almost all interest. I didn't understand why, but after some understanding on teaching as a part-time tutor, I quite understand why we lost interest.Teachers are great, but we want more time with them. 30 Minutes a WEEK is not enough for speaking; I got myself a private tutor to boost it up to 90 minutes a week. The worst offender is worksheets, as they are nearly copy and paste questions meant to tutor you on how to beat the HSC, not how to learn a language. Each week we get a worksheet that takes around 2-3 hours of work, and that is basically our only work. Yes there is Education Perfect, but we have to additionally subscribe for that...The few lesson days where we go to the campus physically are quite often boring (there are highlight moments, but they are minimal); many of my friends from NSL didn't bother going as it was a recap of previous work.At least for other languages, especially minor languages like Russian, there is a way to learn it and have it count for HSC... better than none I suppose. If any NSL teacher is reading this, please... change the lesson structure! NSL shouldn't be where students go because they have to for languages, but where they choose to take their HSC because the school is amazing.

Had a terrible experience with this school. Used this in Year 11 because my lines did not match up with my own French class. These people are severely unorganised and do not care about their students. This course is set up for people who are already fluent in their language and pretend they are not within the program. The teachers did nothing to help me when I struggled despite asking for recommendation for tutors and such. Didn't get any help until i told them i was dropping. Terrible. Not worth the money
