We had a subpar experience at Spicers Guesthouse over the ANZAC weekend. I was lured in by the beautiful photos on their website and the supposedly great Google reviews, but the reality was far from what was advertised. The only positive aspects were the kangaroos in the backyard and the lady at the front desk who was professional.Despite advertising a fire pit, the staff laughed at us when we asked them to turn it on. The room was tiny and uncomfortable, and the service was terrible. It was clear that the place was run by kids who had no idea what they were doing. To make matters worse, the eRemo restaurant was a disaster. The seafood was not fresh, overly salty, and definitely not worth the money. I reached out to the resort and restaurant staff prior to my arrival to confirm that they could accommodate my dietary requirements, but in reality, the kitchen was inflexible and provided a laughable excuse for a meal. Breakfast was even worse.Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's not a premium accommodation, save your money and look elsewhere for a more enjoyable stay.

Pros:Staff were very niceGrounds were niceBreakfast was OK (buffet would have been better)Cons;Way to expensive for whats on offer.Paid $1800 for a 2 night stay. Can see why people get better value for money on an O/S trip.Didn't collect the bath towels for the 2 night stay.Bathroom was tiny to the point of ridiculousRoom did not match the website photos. Thought I had booked a room with an outside patio area overlooking the grounds. Instead ended up in an upstairs room overlooking a roof through 2 vary small windows.Couldn't believe the limited wine collection on offer for dinner, markup on wines were insaneVery disappointing as it was an anniversary weekendThe 3 stars are for the staff & grounds.

An absolutely wonderful stay for our first visit to the Hunter. We loved the service, the rooms, the restaurant and its perfect location close to some of the finest wineries. For food and wine lovers it was the perfect break for us and will certainly be back.

Great fun stay. We were confused as wedding guests pool side and had a great laugh with Michael John of Saint Martin over a few cocktails.Short walk to Harrigans for a sensational lunch with mates. Pro tip: don't engage the security just smile and walk in.The hotel breakfast was splendid and service excellent given the large numbers all arriving at once. The room was not massive but very well appointed, even a Bose speaker and proper mini bar, joy.

Stayed over the long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the service there! The estate had a very relaxed feel with a beautiful views when enjoying the breakfast at eRemo.Plenty of parking and other great amenities such as a pool and outdoor jacuzzi. Also able to hire bikes for a nice ride over to some of the vineyards. An extra bonus for being able to distress with a massage at Spicer Vineyard Estate as well!

My husband and I spent a few days of our honeymoon here and absolutely loved every moment. Staff were absolutely professional and lovely. Everyone was very accommodating and relaxed. We loved that there were no restrictions on pool hours and that we could order food and drinks at the pool. Beautiful grounds and rooms. Will absolutely be back again!

my boyfriend and i extended our stay by an extra night literally two hours after we checked in because we loved the place so much! everyone was so welcoming and professional, and the property is beautiful and well maintained. it was very relaxing, there's seating and fireplaces all around the property. the restaurant is soooo good as well as the breakfast. we also didn't plan anything for our trip and the staff gave us a hand with recommendations to visit in the hunter (Jace & Phillip!). the location is also great as well - only 5min from most wineries. we can't wait to come back!

What a wonderful place! My two daughters and I have had the most relaxing time. The staff are so welcoming, relaxed and accommodating. The breakfast is excellent and the staff at the restaurant are so warmand professional. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. The pool facilities are fantastic, ability to order food and drinks to the pool area makes it extra relaxing. Highly personalised experience in every interaction, which is hard to find these days. Can’t wait to be back here..

We had a lovely stay and cannot fault Spices Guesthouse. The staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. The outlook from the restaurant was serene and we were joined by kangaroo's the first morning. The property grounds were immaculate. The room and all indoor areas were clean. We ordered a cheese platter picnic which was huge for 2 people. The property was off the main road so you couldn't hear the noise from the traffic at all. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
