Lots of space for all types of Travellers vehicles, but bumpy in some spots, no care takers so amenities get a bit dirty and only cold showers. No power and no potable water. Can't access the river at the moment due to over grown shrubs and grass and land slides of dirt. Would stay again just for peace and quiet.

Great for a stop over for a nite or few days. It's a natural park, lots of trees and Bush. Seen Bush turkeys and kangaroos in this area.Plenty of room for small caravans and large motorhomes.Has cemented table & chairs, BBQ's and firepits and scattered throughout the park. Has amenities.. but we didn't use them.Nice walk down to the river.

A large campground overlooking the Burdekin River. Bins, toilets, and lots of concrete picnic tables and seating. One large undercover area. Between the road bridge and the railway bridge, but neither were noisy even with diesels pulling wagons during the night. A rough track leads down to the river past the undercover area toward the road bridge. Dirt road to access the park but it was okay. Lots of small wallabies.

Photos say it all. it's run down, and it has seen better day. Some who live there look like they are staying. The showers are cold water, the men's was bad and the smell, and is it clean HELL NO!". And that is just the men's side I didn't want to see the woman's side. The Road coming in "NEEDS WORK." There are "NO CLEANED OFF SITES" you park where ever you like. It is "NOT WELL maintained." Its near the river so be careful of broken bottles and tent pegs JUST BE SAFE not sorry..Footnote : 14/03/2021 - Network 15.8mbps Download and upload 5.7mbps in 4G Telstra"

was ok. beautiful spot, but no water in the adjacent river unfortunately. very crowded. lots of camps looked permanent with too much set up. didnt feel comfortable staying up late with fire and noise (past 8pm) toilets and shower available . would have felt better staying in town. free and pet friendly

A huge area for campers. Have heard that in peak season as many as 200 caravans can be seen here. There are toilets and a cold shower. The majestic Burdekin River runs along the boundary with an old and new railway bridge spanning the river.

Nice place on the Burdekin to fish and camp. Lots of tables, and camping sites. The amenities are dated but clean. Freedom camping permitted and caravan friendly to the top bank of the river. Not caravan or two wheel drive friendly if you want to access the lower section near the water.

It is quite dry in the camping area, and the toilets are terrible, but the river is alive with fish and birdlife. I even found butterfly groves along the river bank. You need to bring everything, especially drinking water.

Despite the other reviews we only had an ok experience here. Wouldn't bother arriving early, it's really only good for an overnighter. Music from the a permanent until 1am and about an hour of a car doing burnouts through the camping area. Police there the next morning. Can spread out but there are about 11 or 12 camps living out here.Couldn't get internet as could only get 3G.Despite the above, still felt safe.Amenities were fine.Bins were overflowing. There was also a number of dogs (from the permanents) off leash around our camp through out the night just an fyi for people travelling with dogs.
