Cradle Alpine Retreat

We stayed in the Roland cabin for 3 nights. It had everything we need to be fully self sufficient, and was clean and tidy. The king sized bed was super comfortable, with electric blanket. We didn't use the spa unfortunately, as we were very conscious of water usage but the shower pressure was good, and the clothes warmer was appreciated. The small things like the antibacterial hand-wash and good quality toilet paper was great. There is also a laundry on-site which was great but we never used it.Location wise, we were 40 minutes away from Cradle Mountain and 30 minutes from Sheffield so you're not too far away from civilisation if you require something. There's no wi-fi as stated by the owners, which makes it a great place to detox and be grateful for your surroundings. There were 3 wallabies hopping around outside if you're truly desperate for some sort of interaction :)We never met the owners but they were great with their communications, providing us with all the much needed information beforehand and they were never too far away should we require them.Overall, a great stay and somewhere we would stay again for our future trips to Cradle Mountain.

Although we had an issue with payment before our arrival, the communication between the two owners were outstanding and put our worries to bed.The apartment was immaculate, the attention to detail was outstanding. The cabins were in a very quiet location, roughly 30 minutes from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre.We will definitely be coming back here with our next trip to Cradle Mountain.

Unfortunately our cabin, the Wellington, was not spacious as advertised on the website. It seemed to be the smallest cabin in the complex. There was barely any room between the bed & the kitchen & I ended with bruising on both thighs from banging into the corner of the bed every time I needed something from my luggage. The only place to sit inside is at the kitchen counter or the bed. The mattress on the bed is lumpy & uncomfortable. The massive spa bath didn't work properly. The cabin is poorly constructed & appears to be a dodgy add on to a much bigger cabin.The positives are the location; it's a 20 min drive to Cradle Mountain & there is a decent restaurant (the pizzas are amazing!) within walking distance of the cabin. We were provided with ham & eggs on arrival to cook ourselves for breakfast, which was lovely, but it was only supplied for 1 day & we were there for 3 days!If we had to stay in this area again, we would be checking out different cabins.

Stayed here this weekend in the Cradle cabin. Wow what an amazing place to stay, they think of everything, very comfortable and everything you need. We had two young children and they loved it as well, one of them wanted to stay and live there...lol.I would highly recommend this place and we will be back ☺️

We had a queen spa chalet (named Wellington). Very tidy, clean, modern, well appointed unit. The bathroom is beautiful and the double spa is really nice for a long soak after a day of hiking or canyoning. The reverse cycle heater was amazing to warm us back up. They supplied a great selection of DVDs, and the coffee/tea supplies were more than ample. The bed was pretty good and the view out the window is pure Tasmanian wilderness. Simply amazing. Good privacy here, no one can really see anyone else's balcony. Good value for money here, I'd stay again, plus the new owners say they're just going to keep upgrading everything. I'd stay again just to be in the gardens and wilderness.

This place was amazing, it was roomy, comfortable, great value, great location, and I LOVED that they supplied you with everything you could possibly need, including breakfast makings and stuff to make sandwiches and toast as well as the usual tea and coffee. Even bubble bath!Another thing I really appreciated about this place when we went was that it was so close to nature, and the owners obviously care about the beautiful environment they're in, this place was fantastic.

Booked prior to Covid existing, then Covid-19 first hit during march whcih is the month I was due to visit. I had to cancel my booking when the TAS premier shut down the state of Tasmania. Was told it was inside their cancellation period and therefore no refund, they offered a credit. then Covid-19 went for another 2 years and I’ll never make it now. Requested multiple times for refund eventually they just never reply or picked up the phone. Understand you have a cancellation policy but I couldn’t travel as your premier shut down the state and it would be illegal!! For context, all my other hotels, flights, day trips and car hire provided full refunds even inside their cancellation periods because there was no legal way for me to attend!! $600 I’ll never get backAlso their cancellation period was 1 month so it wasn’t like we were visiting the next day after canceling. Boook at your own risk and know that if they aren’t flexible for this situation (illegal to travel interstate) they aren’t going to be flexible for anything.

A friend and I spent two nights in the Wellington Cottage last week when visiting Cradle Mountain and really enjoyed it! It’s spacious, comfortable, clean, and located in a beautiful, peaceful place. The spa bath was definitely the highlight for my friend!

We never had the chance to visit due to unforseen circumstances. Keep in mind that the accommodation provider has an onerous no refund policy within one month of check-in, and there was no willingness to even provide credit to use at another time. If you require a basic level of flexibility in your travel plans I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

We stayed in the Roland suite and it was perfect. Kitchen is well stocked for meal prep, just have to BYO groceries. Double spa was amazing after hiking and slept like a baby in a very comfortable bed. Property is well positioned from several great hikes and activities. Watched wallabies grazing in the morning and evening, perfect sunset view from the balcony and bedroom. It was so peaceful which is exactly what we were hoping for. Can't wait to visit Tassie again and will be keen to stay here.
