No food. Bad service. Shame Gary doesn't have the pub anyone . The Malpass now is a much better option.The staff are friendly, the beer is nice cold and the food is fantastic

What a cracker of a night, Craig and Kelly are so welcoming made us feel straight at home. Great people, great music and loads of laughs with the locals. Thanks for a fantastic night, now on the road to recovery. Love ya's Gill and Pete from Cooktown xx

Dont go here if u are a backpacker looking for job. Andrew had an ad up on Gumtree that said 8 positions avaible immideat start. We were like 16 backpackers staying here for a week and no one got a job. Bathtrooms looked like they haven't been cleaned for ages and The rooms looked the same.

Brooke and Andrew are amazing and will go out their way to help you with anything, especially us backpackers, so lovely and friendly will definitely be coming back for a visit. Ps they have the cutest puppy in the world love and miss u Roxy

Called in to the Commerical Hotel for tea and to watch the footy on Friday nite.Great owners, meet a few of the locals.We both ordered Crumb steak and salad. I asked the owner if I could have veggies instead of salad, as I haven't had mash potato for a week! My favourite!When food came out I got salad Crumb steak and MASH! HOWS THAT FOR GREAT SERVICE??!

Staying in there for one week at Backpacker Hotel, the room smells bad and the window at my room don't have glass, many flies come to my room. Kitchen really bad. Bathrooms at the hotel as well was really bad. Never clean. Someone left towels on the floor, and until 5 days, no one clean up that towel. Public toilet at stop zone across the hotel better than bathroom at hotel. I not recommended any backpacker to stay for a long term in there. But the bar perfect!

Stayed here for two weeks and had no issues at all, staff where great both the backpackers and the locals. Great atmosphere with friendly people. Good old fashioned pub meals with a smile. I'd give it 3 and a half start but it isn't a otion

Super service! The best food in town. Great for family. Excellent raffles. Pool competitions. Coffee and Fresh made deserts. Breakfast too.
