QBD Books Charlestown

We went there today (09/12/22) to buy a Christmas present for our son which we found. The issue was waiting for us at the register.Amy served us (with attitude) when we presented her with our old QBD membership card. She then got a look on her face of condescension as she rudely and loudly talked down to us at how the card doesn't exist anymore and our membership is cancelled. We asked her politely to check it manually which she continued to talk at us with her condescending manner that it is pointless. She then found us in the system.She said I told you the membership is cancelled. You can sign up again at a cost".We felt singled out and humiliated in her tone and volume of voice

So Rude. My mum and I were waiting out the front of the Charlestown store as they were opening and one of the workers was rudely telling us to move. And we moved (no problem) and the worker continued and told us to look somewhere else, even though nothing was opened. We hadn’t asked to go in as they were setting up we were happy to wait since it was 9:58 and they opened at 10:00 but the lady was so rude almost yelling at us to go away.

This is a decent bookshop for the area, clean and well stocked.The book shop is well positioned in the Charleston shopping centre and always seems to have a good crowd attending.A sign of a good book shop is when it has many categories covered and a good sprinkling of books in each section.The shop is clean, staff are helpful. I did not buy any book on this occasion but I'm sure IMay purchase in future.

My go to bookstore at Charlestown Square, staff are always helpful, and they have a good range of books, including a very good SF and Fantasy section

Staff are lovely, they know books. They are more than happy to order in and have a friendly chat, when time permits

Belinda and Amy are always friendly and very helpful. They both provide outstanding customer service and are a great asset to QBD books Charlestown.

Amazing range. Friendly staff. Can’t go wrong shopping here. Phone ahead to check stock and have books put aside works well too

Very very disappointed in Q books today. I love this store and was refused entry as I have a mask exemption and I reminded the young lady by law I only needed to show it to police and the army. She than said well you can't come in. She is the only employee that has refused me entry, no problem at QBooks in Kotara who are lovely. I might add I spend a lot of money at QBooks normally.This young lady definitely needs to be educated in what is and isn't law around masks.

Lovely lady helped me with one of my shopping bags from another store as it kept setting the door alarms off. She fixed it straight away! It's always nice when people go out of there way to do something even if it's not part of their job description. Great books too :)
