Amazing experience. What the locals have done here is beyond words.Only recommended for able bodied people unfortunately but this trail is the most exceptional non-commercial experience of my Cairns trip so far.Saw many many turtles, a Mapi (tree kangaroo) though on the ground, and countless birds flying around mere meters from the trail.Even learnt about a type of water pump lol.

Lovely peaceful walk along a creek through an amazing variety of trees. Saw water dragons, bats and bush turkeys but were too early in the day to see any tree kangaroos.Well maintained track makes it an easy walk for any age.

Such an amazing walk along the river. The track across the bridge was closed but the other way was awesome. I was even lucky enough to spot and photograph a platypus. Thanks little guy you were amazing.

Lovely little nature trail a stone throw away from yungaburra. Platypus viewing, trees and ferns. Flat well defined track.

A very nice nature walk area, covered shelter and sturdy suspension bridge to allow you to cross the creek to sit on the other side and await the inquisitive tortoise and shy platypus. Was lucky enough to have 2 platypus sightings in the 30 minutes we were there.Suspension bridge is sturdy and well secured with fencing etc, although I recommend only 1 person cross at a time if you're afraid of modest heights/wobbly bouncy bridges. I didn't make brown but apparently I went really pale at one point during my crossing.

Enjoy a nature walk with a chance to see a platypus in the stream. No sign of the tree kangaroos today, unfortunately.

What an amazing walk. This spot is the hidden gem of the Tablelands. Not only is it absolutely beautiful, it is marked along the way so you get to know the area, animals and plants. There are also little areas along the way where you can donate to help with upkeep and to preserve this area, please give the change in your pockets and if you don't have any go and get some or put in a note.I was lucky enough to see a Tree Kangaroo along with an adult Platypus and amazingly a baby, what a surprise and pleasure.

Great place for spotting Platypus. Please people, tell your kids to be quiet. Platypus scare easily.

A nice spot to view the creek on a fun suspension bridge. We didn't see any platypus, but we spotted lots of turtles, a really big lizard, and a massive colony of fruit bats that took off as the sun set. Quite a few mozzies, and when the cicadas start after dark it is deafening.
