The quality of care my dad received from this facility in November was less than desirable to be fair.Disappointed that I’m still waiting for a report that I will clearly never receive.I would never recommend them to anyone. The staff were polite and respectful but leaving a loved one in for care.Never againSo disappointed

Gorgeous facility! Offers aged care, transitional care program and also palliative care through northern health, spacious bedrooms and very new! Also boasts a cute little cafe and many different areas throughout. Very homely feeling!

Thankyou Melissa Young for your valuable feedback & review and very sorry for your loss. That is disgraceful .Seems they still have not improved or learnt from the last disaster. This place needs to be closed. How is it still open.

Glad there's been a Royal Commission into Aged Care, this place is a very prime example of what goes wrong.Dietary requirements are provided for a reason. Twice in a row information that was written on the patient's headboard was ignored. Really need to focus on their diligence in these matters.

My mum was in respite for 8 days found the facility lovely, clean and mum had a lovely room. All staff were very helpful and mum got along with them well. Will use them in the future.

I’d like to leave no stars but that’s not an option. My wonderful mother in law was here for 3 months. These are not accusations how ever they are my observations. Each time we visited her water was out of her reach, (she was bed bound) her tea would be in a porcelain cup she could barely hold and delivered so hot if she spilled it she’d get burnt. We repeatedly asked them to give her a sipper cup and make sure water was in reach to no avail. When visiting she told us no one came for her buzzer and meal times were hurried and they didn’t help her eatThe day she died is also confusing. She was transferred to hospital where she died alone within a few hours of arriving. Her cause of death was sepsis secondary to a uti. The family member who arrived to EG and saw how sick she was did not know what a septic dying person looked like. It’s confronting. Instead of explaining to him what was happening (she was actively dying) she was sent to hospital where she died alone within a few hours of arriving. What kind of facility has staff that don’t recognise when someone has entered the final stages of life and are in the active dying process?Your staff should have been able to see death was imminent and explain that to the family member.Explain that sending her to hospital won’t save her but call family to spend her last few hours with her!I also do not understand how a UTI can turn to sepsis and you not recognise the signs, or see the signs but not think to advise family that the end was near. She would not have survived this infection regardless of where she was. Had Epping Gardens recognised the signs or taken a better approach her end would have been spent surrounded by family.I work with aged and palliative clients, someone going thru the final stages of life would have displayed clear signs. Your staff should be trained on how to explain to families that death is imminent and how to provide comfort care to the person.

Having to make the decision to move a parent out of their home is never easy . But finding Epping Gardens has helped deal with that part . Initially during the Covid pandemic it wasn’t easy and faced many challenges. However now that new management and consistency in staff , I leave their feeling mums in a good place of care and safety .

This place looks amazing, promises to care for your loved ones, then can not even look after their basic human needs.Cutting up food, showering and pain relief all failed within 4 days. They promised they can carry out palliative care in their rooms and then want to ship them to the Northern for pain relief. After 12 hours of extreme pain, we finally had to move her out to get relief. Then when the family had a scheduled meeting with management to discuss how the issue can be addressed, the family has traveled from all over Victoria to be there, they failed to even show up.That shows how much they care, it is all about money, they will lay out the red carpet to get you in and then forget about you.I will fight for fair, so this does not happen to another family, at one of the saddest and stressful times of their lives.

This place is very impressive, didnt even know it existing in the area. I had a relative transfered here for a few days from Northern hospital (required palliative care). The complex itself was a great condition. Looks new, looks and smells fresh and welcoming. Seems like there is alot to offer the residents. Chapel, hair salon, cinema, cafe (and that is only what I saw). Rooms very clean and decent size. Staff very friendly and accommodating especially during the palliative care provided.
