Taff's Auto Repairs

Took my BA Falcon to Taff as suspected a new Transmission was needed and wanted a Transmission Man's opinion. Works out that while he was checking that out for me he happened to notice it also needed a Rear Main Seal and offered to do that quite cheaply as part of the trans. job. Further discussion was that really it would be a financial loss to do any of the work as it would still need another thousand spent on it to bring it up to roadworthy and then if I was going to keep it, things like door locks and damaged windows still needed to have something done to them. Result was I have decided to scrap the vehicle instead of engage in costly repairs that still would not make the vehicle worth the money I would be paying out. Thank you Taff for your honesty. You could have just done the trans changeover but have saved me a thousand dollars on following up all the other stuff and I still would not have had a good car. Taff was also most obliging when it came to pick up the car as I live near Victor Harbor and had to send my disabled son for it. On the whole Lovely people to deal with and would be taking my other vehicles there if he wasn't so far away. My son lives close and as a result of the treatment I recieved, is now going to make Taff his mechanic of choice for his car.Giving Taff 5 stars as I can't think of a single thing to complain about.

I've taken three vehicles to Taff's from a 1966 small ford to a 2014 Mitsubishi and each time he has been honest from the start, performed outstanding work and kept me informed throughout the process.Definitely recommend his services.Top bloke. I would like to say that Taffs service and workmanship has been nothing short of exemplary. I got my Ford Escort sent to Taff in SA from Sydney due to Taffs good name in the Ford Escort space.From start to finish, he kept me posted on all the required items that the car needed to become road worthy. He didnt leave any stone un turned. He kept the car to its original spec whilst also adding a couple of minor mods.Taffs workmanship was of the highest quality, and I have plans to send my Ford Escort back to him in about 18 months to have the car rebuilt from ground up.If you need a ford escort fixed, or any car for that matter, Taffs is the place to go.

I took my VW Beach Buggy with a 1500 Type 3 engine to Taffs with firing and carby problems. He had it sorted the next day and now she runs like a dream.

I was quoted $3000-$4000 by Taff to get my 1979 Escort back on the road. I specifically asked at the beginning if Taff would please update me if the job was going to go over budget. Taff had the car for 2 months and I would speak with him weekly to ask for updates if everything was going to plan and to budget - Taff always replied that it was and not to worry.When I came to pick up the car Taff informed me that the job had totalled over $8000. Completely unprofessional behaviour. To have a job go over double the quoted price is just unacceptable and unfair for a customer who took all the right steps. Taff could only offer his apologies. Treat with extreme caution.

Had a difficult, rare Cooling System leak. Taff provided excellent advise in conjunction with Liqui Moli State representative, Simon. Better chance of success now. Best customer service for years! Spent 4 hours elswhere with nil result. Taff supplied bolts in 5min. Great work ...like it used to be!

Fantastic service, Taff looked after me for the rebuild and engine swap in my BMW E30. Even with a few hiccups along the way (not his fault of course!) he made sure i was looked after. Top bloke!

If you need a Ford specialist or just a general subject matter expert when it comes to vehicle mechanics, Taff is the person to go to. Very thorough, much more than you'd expect - goes through the logbook tick by tick and makes sure everything is perfect. Contacts you if issues arise and asks how you'd like to proceed. Rates are very competitive and he is very knowledgeable and will explain any queries. New workshop is spacious, off the road and has access to plenty of equipment for most jobs - if he can't do it, he knows someone who can. Highly recommended if you love your car.

Taff is the go to man for any performance/rally car projects, or any servicing at all for that matter. Taff is by far the best mechanic I have dealt with and consistently kept me informed and stuck to my specified budget. Despite parts for my particular car being hard to come by, Taff managed to think outside the box and make some impressive customisations. Taff is a wealth of knowledge having built and raced rally cars, so there is nobody better in Adelaide for this purpose.For honesty and knowledge in the Motorsport world, Taff is the man to see for any of your mechanical needs.
