Well. I haven't sent my kid to learn Martial Arts from Paul. But Paul used me to get some databases of schools near his martial arts schools in Tasmania and Melbourne. He did not pay me for using my services after agreeing to the price of $85 in the first place (Yes it is not a million dollars). Then he changed the scope of work and then made me wait for 3 months. After that he came back and said that he wouldn't want to pay $85 and we agreed for $40. I have sent him emails and calls for a few weeks now with no reply. Very unprofessional and cheap. Do not keep his work. Cannot be trusted. I deal with businesses and do works worth 1000s of dollars. Never encountered anyone who will be so cheap for $40.

My daughter has been training with Sensei Tony and Sensei Lou for nearly 5 years now and she loves every minute of it. They really have a created a fantastic environment for kids and adults alike to train and learn an amazing martial art such as Goju Karate. All this under the masterful eye of the founder of karate in Australia Hanshi Tino Ceberano. Highly recommend.

Finding the right teacher is important to learn and grow in any discipline. For me Sensei Tony and Sensei Lou strike the right balance of traditional karate and modern fitness methods while providing a respectful and welcoming environment to train in.

My son is starting with Karate this year and we found the classes to be really positive for him. Karate is about discipline, balance and knowing your own body and I find this school already transmits this to the kids. My son loves it.

We cultivate fellowship and understanding.5. We respect the ideals of loyalty and honour, traditional from olden times in Okinawa and japan.After nearly four years since i had left the school, those words, the meanings and wisdom behind them have stuck with me through to this day, i know that without my time, experiences and lessons learned with Tony, Louise and the rest of the IGK family, i would not be as strong in every sense of the word as i am today.I can not think of a more warmer, positive, friendly environment to learn and socialize in, and although my path has lead me away from the school i know that it will always have its doors open to me and anyone seeking to return.I was having a conversation with a friend and i said something to him in regards to how i feel about this endevour we have been attempting to do since 2010, and i believe that it can also describe IGK.Even in the most harshest and desolate of enviroments life can grow, it just takes a little water, a little bit of light, time, patience and some will power.I believe IGK can be that cool refreshing drop of water, that warm ray of sunlight, they can be as patient as time and help you discover your will power.Give it a shot, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Great Dojo for both adults and kids. The instructors go out of their way to get to know their students to get the best results out of everyone.

My nephew goes here. He is only 6 but I find Sensei Lou quite rude with the children. She uses too many sticks, recently the children are threatened to behave (not that they’re actually being naughty, they’re young children!) or they will not be able to go to grading. Maybe they are better suited to train adults but they kill the spirit of the kids by their methods. One of the kids had a question after class and was told abruptly “go away”. He walked out and burst into tears. There is never any encouragement and the kids (and parents) are never given feedback on whether they’ve improved, or what they’ve done well which is atrocious considering the fees are significantly more than any other sport. A few of the mums have discussed moving the kids to another place or just leaving karate and doing another sport. At least sports coaches bring out the best in children, not kill their spirit with negative comments, threats they won’t be going to grading and general rudeness. Children need encouragement. And having friends as sensei’s, they also think teaching discipline and focus doesn’t need to come with threats of not being allowed to grade. My nephew feels really deflated after every class. Just terrible.

Both my daughter and I train here. The Instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about teaching.I’m very happy to have found this school and will definitely keep coming back for more!
