I keep getting phone calls from Pivotel numbers that just hang up. How can I block your entire network?

Scammers in India have been using Pivoltel Satellite numbers to scam people. Also lot of spam from these satellite numbers. Can the Pivoltel number +61 480 097 087 be investigated?

We have been customers of Pivotel for several years, using a Inmarsat phone. They are the best insurance we carry when travelling remote parts of Australia. They offer us peace of mind and have always offered us a good deal as they allow us to take out casual contracts, given we only require satellite coverage when we travel. We have only ever had good customer service when contacting Pivotel.

Purchased aThuraya Lite which had made one phone call (to myself when purchased). It had been secured in a protective case and then in a secure dust and water resistant box. Phone connected for 3 months and disconnected from service after completed trip. Attempted to reconnect plan in September 2022 to find it would not load past splash screen and needed repair. These things happen. From here the service from Pivotel has been horrendous. Repair information sent by Pivotel on 13 October acknowledging the fault with a 6 weeks time frame in repairing the phone (as per their email) I have called every week since January trying to locate the phone as its been sent to the UAE. No one gets back with any information even though they say they will call or email back with information. (thanks Rebecca and Priscella). Have asked to speak to some form of manager only to be deflected to another person called Alan, who turns out he isn't a manager. Every excused has been offered, covid, Xmas (even though no xmas in the UAE) Im now fed the garbage line that its in the mail and posted on Monday , the day before my call.. I have been told this now twice. 10 days apart. Turns out they have no idea when it was posted or even if it has posted as they cant check the postage records. The 6 week repair time frame is now 4 months, and have no idea where the phone is. The customer service has been appalling, especially the lies I have been told. (repair 20210748 ) if you want to check

Pivotel bought Wright Satellite Comms and made it uniquely Australian - Aus tel nos. for Iridium service 2.5 yrs ago. But two emergency devices failed to connect though we paid each month. Turns out our new Aus SIM cards were lost and the former Iridium ones made invalid. No verification by Pivotel ever attempted. For 2.5 yrs. Now the failure discovered, Pivotel unwilling to courier new SIMS. Unwilling to credit even a portion of the wasted fee. Aussie rules. We went to PredictWind. More expensive but these work with good service.

Stay away from Pivotel! After more than a decade with them I signed a 12 month contract for $50 a month and 3 months later they increased it to $65 a month. Told me I had the right to back out of the contract if you wish with no penalty"! The matter is subject of a TIO complaint. Went back to Telstra for the same service at $50 a month for 24 months and they gave me a written confirmation they do not breach contracts like Pivotel does."

BEWARE This company. I purchased “supposedly” a NEW Thuraya. I never made or received a single call in 10 months and only charged it regularly and kept it in my brand new Mercedes Sprinter camper van in the same compartment. The battery stopped charging so I sent it for a warranty repair. I had to call them several times after the 6 weeks repair timeframe they quoted to get an update. They finally advised they were rejecting the claim because of water damage. I am happy to take a lie detector to prove there was no way this unit came anywhere near water so obviously I believe that I either got a reconditioned or used phone. Not happy Jan!!nMaree McKinnonThe Furniture Gallery Osborne Park

As a director of SA 4WD Training I have been using a Thuraya Satsleeve on an Optus plan for the past 5 years. Both have worked without issue on my many outback work trips and holidays. Changing over to Pivotel was necessary when Optus closed their plan. With Pivotel it was all an easy process. I must say that I was shocked by the high level of professionalism and courtesy given to me by Steven at the Queensland based Pivotel call centre. It was such a pleasure to talk with him and chat about satellite phones. As I am a regular user of the phone I understood how to use it effectively and with minimum cost. Steven still took time to offer some more advise. Steven covered all aspects of the plan and the connection process in a slow and methodical way.Looking through these reviews I see that a lot of negative comments come from customers who received spam calls. Unfortunately a reality of life that all business owners must deal with, but a problem they cannot solve. Other reviews mention the coverage provided. Operating any satellite communication equipment has limitations. It is important to understand how to connect to the satellites and the limitations in achieving this. Many communications satellites are in geostationary orbit 35,900 km above the equator, so that the satellite appears stationary at the same point in the sky. Therefore the satellite dish antennas of ground stations can be aimed permanently at that spot and do not have to move to track the satellite. Others form satellite constellations" in low Earth orbit up to 1

I used Pivotel for a 2 month remote area contact facility. Cost and service were excelent and it was very simple to arrange. I was able to speak to a representative in person when needed. Excellent facility.
