Kew and North Balwyn Playcentre

Lovely staff who I can place my trust in to look after my one year old. Leonie is an excellent manager.I love that it’s mixed age so that the children get experience with children of other ages so that they can learn from older kids and build their confidence through guiding younger kids.My daughter’s language ability and curiosity has developed during her time there and I notice her talking more after going to Playcentre and trying new activities. She also loves the singalong and outdoor time.Note: it’s 9am-3pm on Tues & Thurs and 9am-2pm on Weds & Fri and is on during the school term. Also you need to pack a snack and a lunch item which I don’t mind.

My children have attended Kew and North Balwyn Playcentre over the past 3.5 years and have both absolutely loved their time here. They have always come home smiling and full of news of all the exciting things they have done that day. The educators at the playcentre provide their utmost care for your children and it has shown in the swift manner that both my kids have adjusted to attending playcentre, including stop- starting due to covid-19 lockdowns. Their excitement to attend each week also evidences how well they are cared for in a safe and stimulating environment.

My family have been using this centre for the past 5 years. Each of our 3 children have loved attending the centre and all have been very excited to wake up to find out that it is “Playcentre Day””. The activities provided are both fun and educational and the learning that takes place has been reflected at home. They have all learnt to be more independent and confident little people and we have loved hearing their anecdotes about Playcentre at dinner time and listening to them singing the songs on repeat that they have learnt there. They have loved all the staff and spending time with lots of other local kids who they’ve been able to catch up with again at kinder and in some cases school. I highly recommend this wonderful place.

2 of my children have gone here and had an amazing experience (no tears at drop off). The staff are warm and friendly and the playground is lovely for the children.

My kids have wonderful memories from their time at PlayCentre. They made lasting bonds with other children as well as the carers. We were initially attracted to PlayCentre due to the hours and it being occasional care rather than long day-care; we have now enjoyed many happy years at PlayCentre. My kids would come home singing happily and telling me all that they had learnt whilst at PlayCentre.We met a lot of local families through PlayCentre and we have carried these friendships on to school with us, it really helped us to feel part of the local community.
