Sidney Myer Music Bowl

Great venue for music, but bring a raincoat because you may get wet..

It is a truly special place as long as the weather is good which it is when I go there. That's a natural bowl setup for wonderful music concerts. You can be on the lawn stand, sit or go down the front to the seats. The falls festival is really brilliant in December 2022.

One of my favourite experiences to do in Melbourne..the MSO free concerts are truly a wonderful night out.

Saw Archie Roach for free as part of the live music free concert initiative. Got lucky with weather and had an amazing sunset.Could not recommend more but recommend getting there at least 45 mins early to get a decent spot on the grass. Bring a picnic blanket or low chairs if you have themBYO as well for this event, just no glass

Absolutely love the location, the setup, style and vibe if this place. A stunning backdrop of Melb skyline and a nice atmosphere under the open sky. Went there for a couple of events recently and was happy with the management.

The most iconic outdoor concert in Melbourne. Love it every year! Make sure you get there early on a popular weekend show though, otherwise you will end up in a very long queue and not get in.

The difficulties for people with mobility issues has no end. Even with good pain Meds, my night was ruined by pain and I left an hour early just to get out quietly before the crowds. There needs to be a serious rethink for the aged and infirm, — with escalators and elevators in the mix.

Wonderful experience at the Carols by candlelight event.It was well organised, the crowds were well behaved, the weather perfect and the performers were professional and spectacular. It was an apt celebration of Christ's birth, God who became man, who lived,died and rose again for us so that we may be reconciled to Him to live eternally, saved from the bondage of sin and no longer fear death. Thank God for his mercy to us. A very meaningful experience indeed.

So the Sydney Myer Music Bowl has been in Kings Domain Park since 1959. It has reserved seating for about 2000 and lawn seating for about 11000. Lawn seating or standing is fine if it's a nice day but I'm here after a downpour and whole area is a soggy soggy mess. But I did wear my old runners in anticipation! Never again but tonight seeing the Hoodoo Gurus concert and won the tix so shouldn't complain but I'm not, I'm reviewing! Though when I was young I saw Dire Straits here and I was on lawn and couldn't see and couldn't care less. Heaps of food trucks offering usual burgers, chips, donuts, pizza, Mexican and a vegan hummus bowl outlet that was the quietest of the lot. The bathrooms well they have been there since 1959 and it shows. Good lord they need an upgrade. Myer Music Bowl easy 10 min walk from Flinders Street station and pass some beautiful sites along way. However it is an OH&S nightmare because other than the stage and the food outlets the place is pitch black, maybe they could put some dimlights around?? 11.2.23 well it's good being here in fine weather..seeing Icehouse with support by Eskimo Joe who were excellent. From food trucks husband and I got chips and hot jam donuts, Greek style chicken and salad and coffee. ICEHOUSE!!!

Thankfully the weather was beautiful as we got to attend the Sonica Music Festival. Plenty of space. Food trucks great you once you enter the space. Organisers did a fab job. Easily accessible event space, plenty of toilets. Loved the bar area.
