MCS Recording Studio

At MCS I had a great experience with mike teaching me how to record, mix and master. Mike was professional, patient and encouraging.

I spent the day in the studio working on an original song. Not only was Mike friendly and accommodating, he was a great producer and got more out of me as an artist than what I thought I would do that day. The song turned out 100 times better than what I had anticipated, all because of his expertise, patience and skills. I highly recommend the studio and Mike as a Producer and Engineer.

Mike built his own studio and operated it since 2010. He is friendly and knows his stuff.It has cosy rooms designed with acoustic paneling and comfortable environment.He has a selection of modern and old-school valve microphones and mixing processors, plus a well-maintained grand piano.It is conveniently located in a Western suburb, and there’s plenty of parking!

Did a video recording at MCS and Mike the engineer was great. He helped me set up my camera and I liked the grand piano. Would like to back again.

I've recorded demos at MCS and Mike was generous with his time.I first worked with Mike in the 90’s when he did the rhythm arrangements for an album which really lifted the material. I like the albums he has done in his own studio with Jim Dowling and with The Clunk Orchestra which I heard when he was mixing them, then as final product.The main recording room at MCS works with a band and there are two isolation booths for vox, guitar, even drums. There’s a Yamaha grand piano. The control room sounds good, and is large enough to allow flexible working arrangements if needed.Mike has good gear, a good ear and gets a good sound.

This was a time of many firsts for us -First composing, first recording at the studio (with covid restrictions) and even first time singing (most of the time completely out of sync!)...all of that with a varied age group ranging from 5 to 45+ . Thanks to Mike we managed to pull it off well. I was completely amazed at his grasp of music when he was conducting a song in a language he doesn't know at all. I could see the music teacher in himself while he interacted with the kids and gave them tips on how to sing well. He even agreed to meet after work hours for the mixing to deliver a quality product with these meeting sometimes running until 10pm. Great studio and even greater work Mike! God bless.

Great set up with plenty of room and top quality equipment. Mike is very professional and has loads of experience with recording, mixing and also as a musician. Mike didn't just record me but worked with me to get the most out of my voice and I'm very pleased with the result!

Great gear at as well.Mike is really friendly, great communication and very professional about his work.Quality of the product from mixing and mastering is great too.Overall, a wonderful experience.Definitely recommend for recording session in West Melbourne.
