I came to Simon with my hands in the air, almost.. defeated, too scared to ride my new gelding because id been thrown off to many times. He was spooky, sensitive to touch, OVER reactive to anything and everything, and liked to buck randomly with no warning.I had consulted my vet, an equine nutritionist, chiro, massage, teeth, farrier, horsey friends.. you name it, but nothing was working!!So I thought id find a trainer.Because my boy is so scared of the world I wanted someone kind and Simon came highly recommend by a few people so I thought id get in touch. SO glad I did!Within days Simon had found the gaps in my boys previous training and began working on that straight away. He also noted physical issues and recommend a rehabilitation specialist that has worked wonders with my boy.He has helped Romeo to think first, act second. He has worked through Romeos fears of being touched, he has taught Romeo to relax under saddle and trust the leader (rider)! Not only that.. but by watching him training Romeo, I can see where I had got it wrong too, and that when I thought I was being kind, I was actually just encouraging his bad behaviour, and being too much of a push over.Simon has taught me that a good leader is calm, kind but assertive, and when you see him training horses you can see how quickly they relax and are prepared to listen, and work, because of his style of leadership.I was already using the sentence 'well, if he can't be fixed, I guess he will just be a pretty paddock ornament!', but OMG am I glad I found SFH horsemanship.I seriously am so grateful for the work Simon has put into Romeo, so grateful for the kindness he has show him, so grateful for the lessons I have learnt and I am so excited for the future I now have with my gorgeous gelding! Thanks for all your hard work Simon! I will recommend you to anyone.
