Furneaux Restaurant & Comptoir
My partner and I had a wonderful experience here. The dessert Chef, Johnathon came down and chatted with us at the end of the night and bought us some beautiful hand made chocolates - he told us his personal history and story of where he came from and how this restaurant came to be. The service staff Rochelle and Cheryl I believe, were absolutely lovely. The personal touch aside, the food was AMAZING! The Parmesan onion soup was spectacular. The pallet cleanser sorbet was also unbelievable. Would absolutely put it on your bucket list.

Our soup and soufle entres were superb as was dessert. The duck was slightly disappointing and veggies could have been more generous, although sauce was superb. Fabulous views. Friendly service

This restaurant is raved about as one of the best in the area of NE Tasmania. It was quite good, but for the very high price we were not that highly impressed. I couldn't say we would go again but would recommend to anyone in the area to try it for the quite good French cuisine.

Visiting from Sydney and I looked up restuarants in the area and this restaurant caught my eye. Omg so happy I booked 2 weeks in advance and it did not disappoint. From the escargot to the lamb roast to the creme brulee. And everything in between was amazing. Lovely attentive ladies front of house made for a memorable evening. Abit pricey but definitely worth every cent. Thankyou so much if we are lucky to return to Tasmania we'll definitely be coming back

A wonderful French restaurant in St Helens on Tasmania’s East Coast. Traditional French dishes in a scenic setting. A perfect combination.

I want to give a huge shout out to Furneaux who hosted dinner for my small wedding celebration. The team at Furneaux provided an amazing set menu and were accommodating in seating our guests nice and close for an intimate setting. The food was amazing and all our guests couldn’t stop talking about how great it was. Thank you again guys! We can’t wait to visit again when we come back to Tassie!

Fantastic French restaurant in beautiful St Helens. I was lucky to get a table here after someone else has cancelled on the day. So it is worth booking early as it is extremely popular.Great food - enjoyed every dish.

We booked in advance, though did not receive confirmation - I had to call. They said they would call the day before as well, we did not receive any call. The food is cooked well - chef has skills. There isn't much deviation/imagination, with the result being classics cooked classically. What you get is very good value as well. With regards to the building, the extension is cheaply done and shows (not insulated well, cracks, spiders), and the decor is dated/gauche (that tall chef hat? the paper table cloth on top of the cloth? the crystal lantern is just a bit much).A little bit of polish and this would be a diamond, but for now it remains in the rough.

We found this little restaurant enchanting .It is easy to drive by this place and dismiss it .But the locals know a diamond in the rough. We went Tues night and it was fully booked .The staff were attentive without being intrusive they were welcoming and friendly .The food came out in a timely manner and was of the highest quality and cooked to perfection .The head chef came and mingled with the guests to answer any culinary questions and to ensure everything was to their satisfaction. The meals were delicious and the portions generous. All the flavours were perfectly balanced. If you are visiting St Helens this is a must eat.Make sure you book well in advance
