Went here for dinner after work. Plz don’t waste your time…had the so called chefs special. Flavour was good but, $48 dollars for a piece of steak the size of a small rissole, a smear of mash and 3 small and lack lustre carrots. All on a massive plate with more vacant space on the plate than food. Service was slow, even thought dining room was nearly empty and drink service non existent. Staff would rather talk than focus on the customer. Left feeling ripped off, hungry, thirsty and annoyed.

This is a great environment with really exceptional food. I have been coming the last three nights and the starters and mains have so well prepared and full of flavour. When I am back in town I will be coming here for dinner again. The steaks and vegetables are a must have. Calamari is certainly a beautiful flavour sensation.

Quality venue with great staff, comfortable seating and dining. The special was potato gnocchi with a beef ragout. Paired with a Malbec was a delight.

Beautiful 1800’s pub, in great condition in a good spot in Spring Hill. Very aesthetically pleasing with its old world charm. I have visited quite a few times and recommend a drink in the bar followed by a restaurant quality meal in the dining area.

I booked a work function at The Alliance Hotel for ~25pax in February 2023. Jordy (the function manager) was very easy to work with and provided flexibility in designing a menu and a space appropriate for our group. The space we had was perfect for our dinner, we required a private dining space with a bar close by. We had our own bar tender who was very efficient. Food service was quick and the food was delicious! I had the flank steak which was one of the best steaks I've had in a while. I received excellent feedback from my colleagues at the dinner, the space, service, food and drinks were all great! We come to Brisbane a few times a year and need a venue for dinner, I'd definitely book this for dinner again!

Just brilliant. Food was amazing, beer and wine list extensive, service faultless. Treads a brilliant line being both relaxed and welcoming yet professional and attentive. Best dinner we’ve had in ages, can’t wait to come back.

A beautiful, heritage-listed pub which is unpretentious but retains the elegance of its youth. We were greeted by friendly staff and enjoyed a few shared entrees instead of main meals. Would be nice to have more wines offered by the glass but were happy with the selection. Will definitely be back!

I've driven past this place a thousand times... Dropped in for an inquiry and was really impressed with the atmosphere and staff service. A classic Brisbane hotel with all of the old school charm. ☺️

Seriously cooking without making an impressionS27°27.675' E153°1.597' In the centre of Spring Hill, Brisbane QLD, we had dinner in The Alliance Hotel in September 2018, with the restaurant in the back. After schooners of Kosciuszko and reading the menu of this QHA best restaurant, we ordered pan fried duck breast with spring onion, pearl barley risotto, savoury muesli and sour cherries (AU$34.90) and the special of the day 500-gram grilled pork Tomahawk with roasted potato cubes, papaya, sweet corn salad with Montpellier butter (AU$34.90). Impressive menu. The duck breast was well prepared and had nice flavours, but consisted of only five slices of duck breast. Good work was done on the risotto, but no matter how good a restaurant risotto is, it will not show such a rich texture and just-right doneness of good homemade risotto. The pork was served stacked on the potatoes (still not sure about this presentation habit in Australia) with a lot of fat on the bone, which added flavour to the dish. The dishes were pleasant and the result of serious cooking efforts, but there was no wow-factor on our taste buds. These expensive dishes left no impression or impact to return the next day. The waiter knew the menu and looked after us.The Alliance takes cooking seriously, but the food left no impression.
