Its a good school but the facilities are no good and the kids are annoying and the kids can be bullies. I went here for 7 years luckily i wasn't bullied

I must say I did find it amusing to see people leaving this school a low rating, they most likely didn't fit into the old orchard culture anyway. It is a very accepting government school, I was very impressed even 6 years on when I first met Duncan the principle, in the 6 years since my kids started as Preppie, I have been very happy. Sure you do have bullies but thats naive to think its only in this school, they are everywhere mate, wake up and open your eyes, but it is how you dealt with the situation and the support you get from the school, from my kids personal experience the teacher dealt with it very professionally, the vice principle and the principle knew of the situation and swiftly moved into actions. Its all about communications and the strategy in handling the situation. The school is a good size having 450+students, teachers are wonderful, although you won't click with everyone but that is a society in its own so that is just normal. Regardless, the teacher work very hard to make sure every single kid is not left out and explore their abilities to the fullest. The parent helper group is a testimony to the school community. The school does focus on academic, but also emphasis it is not be all or end all, the importance of bringing the children up with high independence, kindness and confidence. My kids are always exuberant when they finish school, and spring out of bed the next day ready. My friend's daughter just join the Old Orchard prep this year and we see the transformation is just amazing. I am just so please our school have such supportive staff. The oval is beautiful and hopefully after this year's Fete, we will get a new reno as well.

I am surprised to see some negative reviews about Old Orchard Primary School. My kids love this school, they have made many great friendships, learnt about so many new things and haven't just performed well academically but have developed as kind, caring, intelligent young people. This is all credit to the incredible school staff and the amazing parent community in the school. Children are well supported and encouraged to develop holistic skills, there are many great activities that the kids have opportunity to choose, amazing teachers who provide a safe and happy environment for the children to grow and develop. Yes there may be instances of some issues but those are dealt with by the school staff effectively and they have great support from our Principal Duncan. It would be impractical to think that any school wouldn't have issues because it is a collection of people who work together to form a community but Old Orchard has a great culture that has been formed by the work and efforts of many amazing teachers, parents and students. We have been with the school for 5 years and continue to love it here.

don't send ur child here, The school is dirty and disgusting. The teachers ate my face and I had to get surgery, also the teachers don't know what they are doing like what

checklist if you wanna come to this school:- if you want to get severely bullied- if you want to get bullied for intellectual and physical disabilities- if you want to get jumped by the teachers in a back alley- if you want to be friendless and alone as a small child. (Speaking from experience)If you’re not popular or your parents are valued by the school good luck fitting in. Not only do the teachers and principals bully you, but so do the parents. Awful experience. I’m warning you all. Bad experience. If I could give 0 stars. I would. Also one of the teachers called me fugly and grabbed me by my long perfect hair. Now I am bald. DisgustingAlso there is too much favouritism at this darn school I hate it

A fabulous school with a beautiful school community. Old Orchard is a school which continually reviews how to improve and enhance the children's learning, their school experience and environment. We have teachers, principals and office staff, who care about all of the kids and their families, so much so, they sacrifice their free time in many ways. One way is to run various clubs at lunch times (Cooking Club, Minecraft club, Lego, Art club, organised sports games) so the children can enjoy a variety of fun activities and make new friends who share common interests. They are especially great for kids with special needs or quiet kids who need help learning to make friends. All students have a turn at wearing yellow come sit with me" bracelets and the school has peer support mediators in bright vests at lunch time. All of this to ensure students have peers they can go to as well as yard duty teachers should they need to talk to someone. My husband and I are both scientists who value a good education and a happy school experience which will help develop smart resilient children. I have a 6 yr gap between my kids
