Bayside Automatic Gates

From start to finish we had an exceptional experience with Leigh. His expertise and the quality of work were fantastic. Anyone looking for a bespoke, quality gate should look no further than Bayside Automatic Gates.

Leigh offered a turn key solution from gate design through to installation and integration with intercom and security. Most others quoted on supply and a partial install / integration. He was not the cheapest quote but he absolutely delivered a quality solution and real value for money!Leigh designed, built and installed a beautifully strong automatic gate and integrated it with the highest quality components (motors, video coms etc). Our gate has worked flawlessly from the moment he completed installation.I recommend you have a discussion with Leigh if you are someone like me that believes value for money trumps the cheapest quote.

Poor review for Bayside Gates and Leigh. Gates were installed with reasonable quality but lack of chasing up defects and completing the job even after full payment. Countless phone calls to Leigh and his office and 6 months down the track still no response or rectified defects… Based on Leigh’s bad reviews on google he seems to reply so hopefully I may get some communication from him.

If you want to know if the product is good and looks great you can stop reading as it is and it does. It seems very well installed and it matches the existing fence perfectly. The end result is good.But, if you're still reading and/or want to know about the customer service, well that's why this review loses two stars. The guy that came out to do 90% of the install was fantastic. Very polite and nice. But this doesn't match the experience with the contact, emails and customer service in general. Tonnes of delays and no communication. I gave feedback to Leigh during the process to say I would have been perfectly ok with the delays if only there was communication about them, he never replied. Ultimately we needed the gate installed by a certain date and it wasn't. We had very little communication and very sporadic (and sometimes contradictory) updates about it. At one stage Leigh was obviously frustrated by me asking for updates so frequently (because they were not forthcoming) and his reply was far from professional and pretty curt (thus leading to me sending feedback on the process so far).I'll stay away from specifics as it helps nobody. But this would be a fantastic company with a fantastic product and would lead to far more 5 star reviews if a positive customer relationship was maintained.I'm pretty sure Leigh will reply to this and that's his prerogative but these types of issues can't be argued or explained after the fact. It needed to be sorted during and it wasnt.

We had our front gate automated. Great professional job from Leigh and his colleagues including cleanup afterwards. Very happy with this company and would definitely use their services again

Great product, unfortunately the company lack customer service competence and after sales/installation service is appalling. Ordered installation in September and Bayside confirmed installation in October, eventually completed end of February, after many no show's and cancellations. Every excuse in the book was used, very disappointing :(

When it comes to choosing a gate company, there are only a handful, however, Leigh from Bayside Gates is at the top of the list. Professional, courteous, and superb attention to detail.Our custom made gate has had many positive remarks from neighbours, and I would happily recommend Leigh to others looking for an automatic gate.

All went well initially, though I had a lot of trouble getting the owner to communicate.Very happy with my new gate for first 12 months. Then the paint started bubbling, I tried contacting the owner several times for a resolution and got no reply. I tried him again a couple of years later as the bubbling is getting worse, and he answered my call.I also discussed asking him to install a motor to remotely open the gate.Promising to come and check out the paint bubbling on my gate and to give me a quote for installing motor.It’s been weeks now, I’ve tried calling and messaging him again.It certainly seems like it’s deep in his too hard basket. The delaminating paint is only going to get worse and I guess I’ll be left to repair it at my own cost. Very annoying conclusion, after a very positive start. Can’t say I’d recommend them to anyone after years of silence.
