Alkina Wine Estate

An exceptional estate. Thoughtful & elegant wines, delicious food, a well presented tasting room with knowledgeable & gracious hosts.We did the Rock Hammer experience which offers a hosted behind the scenes look at the exciting geology behind Alkina's wines and includes a comprehensive tasting of their wines, including their unique Polygon project, and a generous serving of tasty food for lunch. (we barely ate anything for dinner afterwards, so go hungry!)A huge thank you to Dan and the crew for all their hard work!

This place is an absolute ripper. The cellar door rates well - nice wines, good food to go with it and extremely hospitable staff. Lovely location just to round it off.If you want more, the homestead for a stay doesn't get much better. Arguably it is better appointed than your own home - everything you could possibly want for a wonderful stay. Since there is only a homestead for 4 or cottage for 2, it's lovely and peaceful. The price point may be high, but I still see worth the spend for what you get.Alkina has only been open since Oct 2020, and is a wonderfully kept secret - maybe not for long. I will be going back to stay at a minimum.

We had a wonderful tasting experience here, we initially went to do the International Tasting Flight, which was magnificent, and superbly paired with a delicious charcuterie board. After arriving and reading about the winery's regenerative and biodynamic ethos, we also tried the Local Tasting Flight, which was fantastic as well.A beautiful site that's been carefully and lovingly restored, with lovely landscaping. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Barossa for a boutique experience. Hopefully when we're back in the area again, we can try the Polygon experience!Thank you to the Alkina team for creating something very special.

I have enjoyed this experience so much that I felt compelled to share it direct from the exquisite tasting room. Maegen is an absolute delight and is equal parts generous and vulnerable, which I find very endearing. The wines are not typical of the region and offer a breath of fresh air and focus on terroir versus the traditional over reliance on oak. A premium tasting fee for a very premium experience.

Quickly popped in on a recommendation while out to discover new gems in Barossa. Absolutely struck gold. Has a great chat with staff and relaxed in their gorgeous little Tuscan-esque renovated farmhouse. Luscious gardens, you can hear the frogs in the creek. Wines were elegant stand-outs all round and loved the rose especially. Tasting experience was quickly and effortlessly tailored to our knowledge which is a must for taking newbies & colleagues.

I am so glad I had the chance to go to Alkina Wine Estate.The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, it feels as though you have been transported out of Australia and into another country.We sat in the outside area and were the only ones there, which only made the experience more special.We opted for the classic tasting and Zoe provided us with great insight into the wines and the region which we really appreciated.Big thanks to Zoe for making the experience fun an easy, very excited to have the wines we bought.If you’re around the Barossa Valley you should definitely swing by Alkina.

Zoe served us some Kin classics along with some old world wines. She was very well versed and you could tell she was also very passionate when explaining about the terroir and what goes into making their Porygon series. Their wines are light, vibrant and tasty. There is great perfume/ bouquets in each parcel of fruit which is translated into their stringent methods of making each wine.The scenery/ wine cellar is beautiful you get mediterranean-esque courtyard style with tuscany countryside vibes. It feels warm and super inviting. The cheese/ charcuterie board was well thought out, generous and accompanied both wine flights very well.Carly then assisted us through The Enthusiast sign up club membership. She was delightful, easy going and made the whole process so easy. We ended up getting our tastings waived along with a selection of their house Kin Shiraz or Grenache magnum to take home. The mixed pack can also be customised with the choice of two shipments per year.Will definitely be back to enjoy some more wines in the summer sun with friends and family. Amazing single vineyard/ house stay. Gem to have in our Barossa region. Well done guys.Khoa & Trinity

Beautiful cottage tasting room, with super lovely staff, with great wine. Loved the charcuterie with the wine tasting. Expensive wines but delicious. Tasting fully refundable on purchase.
