Mornington Golf Club

OMG for a public course, this would have to be out top 5 ! It beautiful amazing views of the hills, and beach, extremely well kept fairways and greens, friendly staff in the Pro shop ! The Bayview restaurant is on site ( great for functions) and we were able to purchase basic hot food eg pies, sausage rolls sandwiches for golfers. The carts are quiet and new ( no offensive petrol smell) The course is also very safe - without a huge risk of walking into someones golf ball. Lots of Par 4holes.

Very comfortable surroundings with beautiful vista. Attentive staff and excellent catering. Not sure about the golfing as I don't play. All observed players were smiling so a good sign.

amazing experience, played here for the first time and directly Love everything about this golf club. The online booking was very easy accomodating the visitor very well. The staff was helpful, explained all necessary about the course. The course is well maintained. I played from the back 9 which was their best set of 9. you will love the 10th till 18th. First 9, I think 3rd and 7th are the best. Green is very tricky, looks easy but it was not. Fairway relatively wide a bit forgiving for a high handicap plate like me. The 4th I guess is the toughest hole of all. Really enjoy playing here

Very happy with the food and the staff were more than accommodating. Ordered a kids meal and was pleasantly surprised when it came out before the other meals (2 year olds don't understand waiting). Lovely experience.

Great place, nice food and fantastic drinks!

A fantastic course for all players. Last 3 or 4 holes are incredible views and layout. Plenty of chances to score but not a gimme by a long shot. Pro shop staff super helpful and up for a chat. Facilities and club house are welcoming and well laid out also.

Beautiful course, stunning view, green is hard for new golfer.

A tricky one to review.PROS:- incredible views from most holes if the bay across to the city.- fairways in good condition- Brilliantly designed club house and spike bar.- there are some seriously stunning holes.CONS:- slow play, 5.5 hours. Talking to members this is common. There are also no Marshall’s to ensure quick play and speed up slow groups.- course etiquette - groups of 6 in front of us, some in tshirts, no one policing the “strict” course rules.- I found the undulating fairways serious work, and the greens I didn’t enjoy either. Greens were rarely flat and all very difficult to read all day, I prefer course with more true roll that reward a good putt, this course probably rewards local knowledge a lot.- the wind was crazy on the day we played.- not much water on courseGolfers - I know we are all different, I’m glad I played this one but this one was not for me more than once a year.

Excellent menu with reasonably prices from $28 to $45 for mains. Kids calamari was generous and delicious. Meals cooked well, Grant Burge wines at very reasonable prices. Excellent service and classy looking decor. Cannot believe there were only two tables occupied. Top evening.

The food was great, atmosphere pleasant, attentive staff. The soda lime and bitters was good. The Rose was average and very pale in colour.
