Person on phone just rattled off information not able to answer my queries transferred to some one else who didn't answer and when they rang back did apologise but then asked for bigger donation not the usual way of getting money for a cause

I just raised over $500 for this charity, so when they called asking for a “one off” donation, I told them. Repeatedly. Over three phone calls.Telemarketer kept talking over me and repeatedly told me the call won’t take long. I asked repeatedly for them to take me off the database and that I will NEVER support them again. Had to hang up as she was still reading the spiel and refused to listen to me.Disappointed I chose this charity to donate to and won’t make the same mistake again.

Is this a scam? Because that's exactly how it feels dealing with these people. From cold calling my elderly mother, to trying to establish their bona-fides, it just seems unprofessional and like a con job. Are they taking advantage of what should be a legitimate charity purpose? Bloody disgraceful..
