Coogee Beach House

Very nice staff, very helpful and approachable at all times. Cleanliness is very important here. It is also a place to relax and, unlike other hostels, no parties are allowed here, which I personally liked very much because you can have a good chat with the people here.A small free breakfast is included in the price.

Terrible experience. Upon arrival the receptionist couldn't find my booking.Although my booking confirmation still reflected confirmed in my email, the receptionist showed me photo of an email with a booking cancellation.I had not been notified of the cancellation and they were fully booked and unable to help.I wouldn't recommend the place and won't be back.

My first time in a hostel. Good experience and amazing location

It’s ok for a low budget, but during my 10 days stay, cleaner took away my personal stuff from my bed twice because they thought I checked out.

Great hostel only a minute’s walk from the beach. Reception was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Quiet hours start at 8pm so it’s great if you’re looking for a more relaxed hostel.

Shocking don’t under any circumstances book this hostel.My son had a confirmed booking for a private room with a double bed for 1 person .On arrival he was told that they could not find his booking. He showed them the confirmation email on his phone. They told him that his booking had been cancelled , he told them he most definitely had not cancelled his booking. The receptionist apologised and told him that they had problems with their booking system. She put him in a 4 bed dorm which he really did not want and told him she would have a private double room possibly in Sunday. He went up to room there were 4 beds all which looked occupied . He expected one of these beds to be his bed. On return to the hostel that night very late there was in fact no bed for him. They gave him a mattress and told him to sleep on the floor.It was an awful experience. He has since left hostel and booked into a hotel. I’m appalled at the management of this hostel.

Good and clean facilities, and nice relaxed atmosphere. Perfect location for accessing the beach

The location and the potential for free parking are the 2 up sides. The hostel itself I wouldn't stay if you paid me to and I've stayed in my fair share of hostels. Fan operated (No air con at all in the building) tiny rooms, cockroaches flying around the bedrooms. Smallest kitchen I've ever seen in a hostel, nobody greeted us at reception, our key was left on the desk to check in and check out, I could have taken anybody's room or key. Free Breakfast was bread and cereal. The lounge area was halfway decent, but I could not imagine staying in this hostel at full capacity, especially with the size of the kitchen. If you're planning to stay, use it as a base to sleep and shower and set your expectations low.

The only thing this place has going for it is the location. I've stayed in several questionable hostels, but this one takes the cake. The room I stayed in was in disarray and the shower and toilets leave a lot to be desired. Definitely not worth the money I paid, and I checked out early and stayed somewhere else.

The hostel has a great location right on the beach. The room was ok. It was quiet at night. But our sheets were dirty. Unfortunately, the bathrooms were not in good condition. This is not so much due to the hostel management, but rather to the guests.the communal kitchen was a bit untidy and dirty. Otherwise, we had a nice and safe stay at Coogee Beach! We always had breakfast in the nice little cafés around the corner!
