Thinking of a commercial transaction with Rose Hawkins (Staal)? You might like to think again. We recently purchased Rose’s Montville house in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland, which she used as a Yoga retreat. Rose is now co-owner of Rochford Organic Garlic in Tenterfield. What a disappointment the purchase was. Not only was the house left in a disgusting state, Rose lied about previous periodic maintenance being performed, flouted her contractual obligations regarding agreed pre-settlement work to be completed, and removed items included in the sale after the final inspection was completed. Not only was the house filthy, but many unwanted items were dumped throughout the gardens - including car tyres, broken furniture, old mattresses, rusty garden tools as well as general rubbish. Rose has been given an opportunity to rectify the matter, however has chosen to ignore all correspondence. Rose received the promised sale price, her agent received her commission, we however, definitely did not receive the property we were promised. From our experience, Rose is not someone we could ever trust again, definitely not true to her word and would recommend anybody considering a commercial transaction with her, to reconsider.
