Arcare Aged Care Springwood

How they cared for my mother-in-law was deplorable. So unprofessional, lacking in duty of cares to provide someone so vulnerable. Had falls that they took little notice of and we get accused of putting cameras in and then told she is not getting unless we remove them.... oh... we never had any cameras by the way. Nothing 5 star about them. She was struggling and they did nothing. She went I walking. We removed her to go elsewhere... she couldn't walk at that stage. They provided no physio, no rehab, no nothing. At least where she went they cared for her with love that she deserved..

i went to this place with my friends family, to visit their grandma, and there staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful, provide good service. Staff employees offer tea, coffee and biscuits. I have seen the way they treat the elderly there, they are polite and cautious when taking care of them. I recommend this place if you want great service and people that know how to take care of your loved ones.

My husband Michael Kan wrote a review. Mum walked in March 2019 and was immobilised when we moved her to another home closeby in October 2019, where she was care for with compassion and love. The aesthetics were nice but the ratios of carer to patient abysmal. We only ever wanted to improve cares for Mum. I called her and she would tell me she was on the floor...so I had to call someone to attend to her. This happened on a few occasions. Yes we were sent a Solicitor's letter from Arcare's head office accusing us of having installed a camera and threatened with breaching an 1899 criminal code and that furthermore we better remove this camera ( which did not exist btw) else carers would not be obliged to care for Mum. I can only imagine because of us living 5 minutes away, allowing for frequent visits, and finding Mum in same clothes from day before..soiled..burns to her lips from being force fed hot soup. There was so much more..that someone obviously wondered how did we always find Mum..how did we know. There were minimal staff to high need pt , that's how. But I note you have some good reviews now, so things must have improved. I'm still so traumatised by our experience. The Nurse in charge Radika was 5 star and listened and was a change agent..but other staff treated us very shabby. I am glad there are good reviews..but if you cannot attend to high care needs, which Mum became after a few months, don't promise that you can. After being left alone in the toilet and face planting the floor, face planting in the lounge area after just starting a new medication which we warned staff , could make her unsteady...enduring a brain injury... Anyway kudos for being transparent and not removing these posts. They serve to bring about change for the better, to improve and mitigate risks. We are all ageing and it's more about the care than the fancy furniture and architecture.

Our mother was in care for 13 months before her passing.Mum was treated with dignity and respect, the staff kept us well informed on how Mum was.During Mum's final days the staff were very accommodating towards my brother and I, nothing was too much trouble.Having to place your loved one in care is one of the hardest things to do and we took comfort knowing that Mum was safe and being well cared for.Thank you, Harindeer and your dedicated caring staff for taking good care of our mother .Mark and Kay

Mostly staff helpful and caring.I guess a few slip through the cracks on how they should be patient and communicate with elderly. As I have witnessed when visiting my Mother some very rude and abusive behavior from carers infact even talking back at me abouty Mother.Needs more supervision on the training of some of the carers been employed as not five star when you have rude abusive carers on shift.

Just put mum in there under their care, unfortunately mum was in hospital for 2 weeks but when she returned to Arcare she had multiple bruises to her body. Arcare photographed mum and is currently having this investigated. Good on you Arcare looking after your residents in this way 6 Stars +

What really can I say about this caring facility.I think we all don't like the idea of having there loves having to go to a place that you don't want them there but would like them to be at home secure safe and in their own comfort.My mother at the age of 90 + and has been placed into this facility as my father who is 92 + was unable to help my mother due to his physical capabilities and would literally be there for my mother all this time after 61 years of marriage.Maybe saying why the hell are you talking about, into a particular care facility without love and acceptance but having seen this particular caring looking after my mother and I had up most confidence that they are very very experienced and also exceptionally caring and also due to something else but this facilityis a plus plus plus for the ability and their skills are there tennis they go up and beyond.people alag and people to be allowed out andgoing through they are looked after and they are assessed constantly.I'm very proud to say this about this establishment.But the majority of costs is around $30,000 a year, now that is close to the single age pension and a little more, but as with knowning that my mother is in in great care I would ask what matters in your life and the people that are in your life that gave you life and more!!So it means to me that I don't have to worry as much as I know that she is wonderful and blessed to being in this facility.Last of all I have gone on a lot more than I that would, but I that I help you with regards to this facility.Pete

5 star aged care facility and a great cafe at the front too. Friendly, helpful staff.

My mum's health has improved since she's been living at Arcare Springwood. She was very unsteady and under-weight after a prolonged hospital stay and now she has gained weight and regained mobility. The food is of a high standard and they have choice at each meal and snack. The staff are caring and she likes them very much.

Considering it is supposed to be a 5 strategy, they are extremely disappointing on the cleaning of the bathroom and room.
