The Ruins Campground and Picnic Area
Great Spot, Great amenities block with warm showers, built new to a great standard, for a low cost camp this place is fantastic, bbq's and sinks also available . The cleaners do a brief clean every couple of days. No water or dump point available for Rvs if required. Don't leave your rubbish bin down low as the Goannas or bush Turkey's will make a mess. Plenty of bins and recycle available. Less that 2 minutes to the fantastic beach. Be prepared for noisy young campers on weekends partying until 3:00 Am on weekends.

From rugged campers to casual caravaners, The Ruins campground is the perfect spot for nearly anyone. A beautiful area fringed by cabbage tree palms and paperbarks, it has everything you need, from picnic tables and barbecues to hot showers and drinking water. But the real charm lies in what’s nearby. Don’t forget your swimmers–whether you prefer the beach or a sheltered lake, both are just a stone’s throw away. Seven Mile Beach offers gorgeous sand and whale watching in the winter. Wallis Lake is perfect for relaxing beneath a tree or launching the kayak for a cool afternoon paddle. You can even hike along the Booti Hill and Wallis Lake walking track, which includes scenic lookouts and a direct link to Elizabeth Beach - perfect for surfing and seasonally patrolled. Keep your eyes open for graceful shore birds along the challenging walk. But if all else fails and you just feel like taking time out relaxing with a coffee and a newspaper, The Ruins campground is also an easy drive from cafes in Pacific Palms.

Great camping ground, and beautiful facility. Especially hot shower(non-automatic stop) was great! The children were happy to see wild animals and enjoyed walking, playing at the beach(unfortunately this beach are not for little ones because waves were big!)The weather was on and off but still we could enjoy a lot, we watched so many rainbows while we stay. The sun rise was so beautiful and breathtaking.Just it was a long drive from Sydney, I wish we could have a great campground like this near us.

What a spot! This campsite has everything you could need. Clean shower block with flushing toilets, a very short walk to the beach, beautiful bush lamd surrounding, campsites you can park next to or near the trees there is allocated parking. Plenty of bbq facilities and the park rangers are very friendly. There is so much to do in the area and every time we visit everyone is very respectful of the sites. We love it here!

It’s a 5 stars Camping ground with 1 minutes walk to the Seven Miles beach. Sunrise at 5:45 if you walk to the beach. The toilet is modern and clean with hot shower. 6 starts for toilet:) Amazing camping ground for kids and family. Amazing Stars and sea wave sound in the night. *15 minutes drive to supermarket*There is a washing area to wash dishes. We booked the No.60 which is opposite the toilet. Recommend to book it online because it’s busy.

It’s so close to the beach. Pack up beach tent spend the day in the beach. A good place to watch sunrise. Sunset on the lake side. Saw lots of dolphins feeding in the morning.

As a whole it is a great place to camp. Recently renovated amenities are lovely and the camp kitchen area is perfect. Plenty of space with easy access. Beach is nice with a patrolled beach just a short drive (Elisabeth beach). We will definitely visit again.

We came here on Easter long weekend, the entire was packed to the brim but thr campsites were extremely spacious and everyone was super friendly. There are unlimited HOT SHOWERS! There is also a dishwashing sink that has hot water! Cleanest flushing camp toilets i've ever seen.

Amazing campground! It looks like it was re-innovated, the shower / bathroom was so clean and new, there are BBQ facilities as well.Campsite itself is so close to seven mills beach, we would hear the beach sound in the night. it is within the booti booti national park where you can walk the booti hill track from the campground, only 15 minutes drive to forester town where there are lots of restaurants and shops. The only thing I would suggest is to have signs to advise quite hours , we have a group of people camp next to us were still having the music on and talking very loudly until 11pm, which is impacting the campers around who wanted to enjoy the peaceful environment.
