What a hidden jewel,great stay fantastic food and found Greg & Kathy to be the best hosts

Very quite, fantastic location. No cars,planes, just birds. Magic.

My partner and myself were hiking through the town and had planned on stopping at the inn for lunch, it was not open so we stopped at a bench in what we thought was a public historic park opposite the inn for a snack. The main gate was locked but the side gate was open. We assumed the main small gate was locked as it looked old and fragile.The owner of The Comet Inn came out shouting at us that it was private property and to get out. We packed and approached the woman who was still standing in the door waiting for us, we apologies for the mistake but she was more interested in berating us for being on her private property" (there were no private property signs up as we looked for them) than accepting our genuine apology. She continued to berate and belittle us and told us to leave the area.We felt very upset by this unnecessary abuse and it ruined what was otherwise a pleasant walk in a beautiful area.Considering we were originally looking forward to having lunch at this establishment and spending money here it was both upsetting and jarring.We will not be recommending The Comet Inn in any way if this is how the owners react to visitors mistakes."
