Steam Carriage

Utterly charming and unique place to stay which is clearly a labour of love for the very helpful hosts. 3minute walk (30 second ride!) to the brewery and general store and very close to the town’s MTB hub. Highly recommended!

This place transports you to another world and another time. You are instantly charmed by the carriage and it's surroundings. The outdoor bath tub was a hot fave morning, noon and night. The inside fire place created a cozy and calm experience. Steam has been put together with so much style and finesse: u feel like it gives u a big hug while you enjoy the mood it puts you in. This place is special beyond words - we are already planning to get back!

This is a unique place to stay. Extremely cosy. The MTB riding here is brilliant. It is suitable for 4 adults the 2 single beds are only suitable to children.

We loved our stay at Steam Carriage and had a lovely relaxing weekend, it's absolutely stunning and beautifully designed! Here are some of the things we loved:* The gorgeous fireplace, it was so lovely relaxing and playing cards by the fire. They stocked up the wood too, so we had the fire going all weekend.* The incredibly comfortable beds and lovely linen - I am fussy with beds, and these beds were so plush and gorgeous!* The outdoor claw foot bathtub, we loved this and it was so peaceful being immersed in nature in the bath. The chandelier outside was a nice touch!* The beautiful decor, it's such a unique place to stay and you are transported back in time. There are so many lovely little details, like the original plans for the carriage on the wall!* All the towels, it was very well stocked.* The best part for us was it's pet friendly so we were able to take our dog with us, she's part of the family so it was so nice having her there with us!If you do stay, make sure to check out the Forrest Brewery - the food is amazing and they are so lovely! For breakfast and great coffee, snacks and wine check out Forrest General Store, it's a fantastic spot.

A lovely unique holiday spot.

What a wonderful little hideaway! My husband and I loved staying in this converted train carriage. So cosy with everything we needed. Situated in a quiet lane in quiet Forrest. For Rest - Such a relaxing place. 3 bedrooms (queen, double, 2x small single), bathroom, kitchen and living area with a fire place as well as a large outdoor undercover area and garden. We found it very spacious for the two of us. We would love to stay again - maybe permanently!Forrest was beautiful and we found the general store full of delicious goodies and great coffee. The food at the brewery was wonderful also. There's nothing bad to say about this place!

My partner and I loved staying at Steam and have recommended it to a few friends since our return. We loved the outdoor bath and shower and how the train had been reconstructed in line with its original look and feel. It’s much better in person than one could ever imagine from looking at the website.

OMG! We loved, loved, loved STEAM. What an amazing property. Kirk loved the outdoor bath, I loved the hammock, Nate loved it all and now wants to live in a train carriage!! We cannot wait to rebook. Thanks Fleur and Mike for another fabulous Dufflebird property. You are the perfect hosts.
