Be careful of a terrible fine print, not all fuel will be refunded. You have to get an itemized invoice, with type and amount of fuel, not just the dollar cost. Problem is not all stations give you this, and good luck asking them for one. This is not shown when you book the car or check their help page. You are only told once you claim a refund and they will say it is policy all along. If you are not told this beforehand, would you look for it? Would you be prepared for it? Now you know.

I find Car Next Door an easy car hire service to use and cost effective for occasional trips .There are several variants of vehicle including vans , Suv's and small hatches. The hire process is straightforward and when you need support as i did during a return of a vehicle, the support line was very helpful and resolved the issue immediately.Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic idea and a great service to boot! they have an App that is really easy to use a good number of vehicles to choose from all over Sydney, available vehicles are on a map with details, its so easy i would highly recommend you give them a try next time you need a car or a ute or a van they have all types of vehicles as well.

Terrible service in every way, I'd give a zero if possible. Goget is infinitely better in every way and would recommend them to everyone.

I’d be very cautious using Car Next Door. I love the concept, but since they are with Uber, they do hard credit checks and will be on your file for the next 5 years, even if you have been a loyal customers for years and years (like me).Now I am with a credit enquiry in my file and my credit score dropped.Massive disappointment

Until recently I had a not very good experience trying to borrow a car and quite a good one renting my own. After CND rebranded their service is really poor - I don't think customer service is based in Au since people don't even understand what 'update the rego' means. Also waiting time on the phone is very long and if you are transferred several time you need to provide your personal details including drivers licence and home address to each and single individual...

I hired a car, a Mitsubishi Mirage in Kensington, Sydney, that turned out to be unroadworthy. The brakes were almost gone (they scratched loudly and the car shook when I braked). Drove it only a few minutes before knowing it was a big problem. Put it back where I found it, called Car Next Door, was on the phone to them for an hour, didn’t get my money back for the hour or so I was on the phone and still in the booking. They tried asking me to pay the $500 excess but I refused and then they said it was sent in mistake when the car owner was eventually blamed and got the car brakes fixed, but Car Next Door didn’t give me my money back (around $16), instead offering me a $20 voucher on my next hire. When the cars work this is a good app, when the cars have a problem, it’s a nightmare. Be careful with what cars you hire, the Damage Report department aren’t to be trusted.

Unfixed car damage & bad UX costing me thousands of dollars.Car Next Door is a waste of time, bad UX, don't get enough money and my car has been significantly devalued due to putting it on Car Next Door. The car has been scratched and dented in a number of locations. It is very difficult to find out how to submit the claim in a format that they want. There isn't a submit claim button that I can find 10 clicks and 20 pages deep into their mobile app. So I email them a description and photos close and far photo for context for them to assess. Every time they ask for me to submit in a different way. Then they say it is beyond the 42 days (which is too short a time frame) so they will not fix the damage.Fixing the damage to the car caused by borrowers will cost me much more (around $5000) than the small amounts of money received from Car Next Door (around $2000).It was too difficult, too long too wait and expensive to organise insurance through them (ended up going with someone else).I sent 23 emails, days of my time and months of waiting trying to resolve all the above, still no resolution.Do not use Car Next Door.

I have had my car on the CND platform for 4 years now. The last 2 years I have had the car availability to nearly 7 days a week. 80% of the time borrowers are great. They do the right thing. But 20% of the time a borrower will leaves it in a mess, disrepects the rules and guides of the car. Recently I had a borrower, who left the car park in a tight street in Newtown. Didnt fold in side mirrors, leaving it exposed to cars knocking and breaking it wholst trying to squeeze through - which is exactly what happened. Long story short. Car Next Door deemed myself responsible for repair... Seems like they value their borrowers over the owners. Not exacly happy with the result.
