Aussie Trax

We used Aussie Trax to hire a 4WD to use on Fraser Island. We did the Longest Day Away Tour which was 4WD hire for 1 day. Communication leading up to the day was really good. They responded to our website inquiry within a few hours with a quote, tide times and a large amount of detail about how things would operate on the day. We thought the initial quote was a bit expensive as they charged per person, rather than just the vehicle. So for 4 people it came to approx $800 - but this price included the barge tickets and the fees required to drive on the island, both which can be a bit expensive. We chose to recommended time to go to the island, which was 06:30am and I would also recommend this, as by the time you do the paperwork and the safety video, it was about 9.00am.The staff were extremely helpful and lovely. They helped us with an itinerary. The car was in great condition and drove really nicely. We had the most amazing time on the island. We didn't have any issues along the way, and in the end the experience ended up being well worth the money and the early wake up. I would absolutely use Aussie Trax again and recommend it to my friends

It was a unique experience. Due to short notice booking there were small difficulties. However, the staff has tried very hard and it all worked out perfectly in the end. The car was great and we had no problems with it on the island.

We had an incredable time on Fraser Island. The best trip we've done so far. Thanks to Aussie Trax for that terrific adventure!My boyfriend and I hired a 4x4 Suzuki Jimny for 3 day/2 nights form Aussie Trax. The booking via phone was really easy and fast. We booked our trip a week before we wanted to go which was no problem. Mike was super friendly and a few minutes after the booking was done we recieved a message with our booking details and plans for the savety briefing. We got a good briefing and the owner checked the car together with us.Aussie Trax gave us a 3 day trip plan as an idea we could follow. That was a really good thing. We could use our short time perfectly to see many of the beautifull places on the island.I totally recommend Aussitrax. Good to get some 4x4 experience self-sufficient (not tag along), to have an outdoor adventure and don't waste your money.We spend about 900$ (2 persons) and it was absolutely worth every cent.

Booked a fwd weeks before easter on their website and it all went through and was booked they even took a deposit and sent me a receipt. A week later they cancelled my booking and sent me an email notifying me which i never saw because it went to my junk email. We drove from Brisbane and came to pick up our fwd before getting on a barge to fraser only to be told they have never heard of us and they have no vehicles left... i got angry and said to the man that he has ruined my holiday and he kept telling me to calm down and then has the audacity to say i have ruined my own holiday. In the end they worked out That they over booked, told me via email sent to junk inbox and called me a barge on the last ferry and one spot was left. They need a better website, email system, and the old man behind the desk needs to go. Luckily we booked a tour at fraser so my holiday wasn't completely ruined but there was no fwd's left on the island so that plan went to the pack. Thanks aussie trax for my booked last minute barge ride which is the only good thing you got right.

We rented 3 vehicles from Aussie Trax for a week. The staff were extremely efficient and accommodating. They organized our barge crossings as well. Everything was explained to our satisfaction and we left feeling confident. They had an office at the kingfisher resort which was helpful if anything went wrong. The vehicles were very comfortable on the sand roads and drive well. We would highly recommend this company to anyone. Easy to deal with and very friendly

Very happy with our experience. We hired a very robust little Jimny that was great to get around in. When the car had a small issue, an Aussie Trax mechanic came out to fix it for us and we were able to still make the most of our day. Excellent service, and that's why we've now hired twice from this company.

I rented a 4x4 for 6 people with Aussie Trax and it has been an amazing experience! We had our own camping stuff so we booked a 8pax car in order to use the back to put everything. They give you all the advices for driving in Fraser and all the information you need and also they can book for you the national park permit and the ferry. The car has been perfect, we didn't have any problems in 4 days in the island.Highly recommended!!!

We hired a Jimny and had a fantastic time on K'gari. The vehicle was great, small and nimble, and just climbed up hills and cruised the beach with ease

rented our car from the Fraser Island shop and Oscar went above and beyond to look after myself and our family. We had car troubles on the first day and unfortunately there was no replacement car that could fit all of us until the following day. We managed to snag a lift to our accomodation and Oscar drove the car to us personally (about a 1 hour drive) the following day. Oscar was so kind and helpful and knowledgable about cars!! Give this man a raise!! When we had to talk to staff over the phone everyone helped us in every way they could!

Took the effort and found me a car after another rental company canceled on me. The debrief was thorough, and the car was very well prepared for Fraser. The woman that took us in was very kind and understanding, and they were just wonderful. Their cars fit exactly the Fraser conditions and drove like a charm.Thank you very much. You made Fraser awesome for me and my friends.
