WEA Adult Learning

It's a shame that WEA management advertise for trainers/educators, but lack the basic human or professional courtesy to respond to an application. I spent weeks putting together and submitting my application way back in October of 2022. I had to call them to follow up in December and was told by their admin man someone would get back to me, but that was 8 weeks' ago and no one has been in touch. It's very discourteous and disrespectful to mislead an applicant this way. I am a good educator and like to help my community, but I don't think I would be able to adapt to WEA's low standard of workplace values or dysfunctional processes

I recently started undertaking WEA courses and have found them a good mix of practical fun and educational theory. Not knowing the classroom till on the day can make it difficult if the information screen is a distance from the classroom.The tutor's are friendly and professional. It would be nice to see some possible bundle/group discounts.

I completed the Developing and Launching a new business course, run by Kelly Hody was fantastic. Full of practical information and resources, great advice, sharing and encouragement, and I could ask lots of questions. Highly recommend!

The course was great. Tutor was very helpful.Will do further courses as they become available.

I did a 15 hour water colour course (over 5 weeks). I was quite disappointed as we covered about 15 different techniques but not in any detail. For a short course like this I would have expected to cover one or two techniques in more detail and then produce something nice at the end of it. However, the teacher was lovely.

I went here as Maker Space is setting up in the basement. I'm quite excited to see the new facilities up and running.

I love the WEA. So many courses, covering a wide range of activities. Parking is a little annoying around it - 3 hours and many courses go for longer. There's a snack bar across the road which has good variety but the blonde haired woman isn't particularly friendly.

I've been on several WEA day tours and one week long tour hosted by Dr Dennis and Trevor. They are always friendly and so knowledgeable on the areas we visit, especially the local history. Written notes are always extensive.The little library is outside WEA, just to the right of the main doors.

Very much enjoyed the first of 4 sessions on drawing accurately, presented by Kelly Fergusson.Bring a jacket though. Classroom was very cool.
