Local Burleigh

Lovely pub and great decoration, I enjoyed the atmosphere for a late lunch on a week day. I only missed some tomatoes on my salad to add a bit of color instead of only leaves.The food was good and portions were generous, I order to take away the part that I didn't finish as it was huge. Ideal for some afternoon drinks too. Staff friendly and welcoming

Lots of seating options. Absolutely love the innovative menu for breakfast. So hard what to choose that I’ll be back for more! Love that I can get my sticky chair from here and can have sparkling water from tap. It ticks all my boxes :)

Time: Friday Lunch4.5 in reality and it would have been 5 but what’s up with the thimble of sauce?Atmosphere is welcoming with a unpretentious aesthetic. Skylight brings a nice Burleigh sun into the inner workings of the venue.Ordered the Chicken Schnitzel with salad and shoestring fries. Your usual arrangement of sauces…mushroom was delicious just not enough. Quality was outstanding, you can tell the kitchen takes pride in the fare. Salad is fresh and dressed very well.Staff are great. Friendly and professional without being too intrusive.Atmosphere could definitely change and pump for the evening. If you’re looking for a solid weekend arvo spot or week day lunch venue I’d highly recommend.

First time at the Local on Friday night, came in for celebratory drinks/dinner with my husband and kids. Beautifully presented venue with the plants and skylight, and is dog friendly. 10/10 experience, especially from the cocktail girls. Although it was a busy period, one was still lovely enough to spend some time talking us through the variety of wines/cocktails offered. Very knowledgeable on the wines, enlightened us with some interesting stories on the regions of SA and recommended us some wineries to check out when traveling there next month. Small gestures go a long way and she made our experience at the Local very warm and welcoming. The cocktails were also delicious and so was the ceviche. Thank you for the service, we will be sure to be back!

The Local has an incredible vibe and culture to it. As soon as you walk in you know it's a place to catch up with your friends for a chat or gossip.Staff are very welcoming and service is easy with QR codes.The menu was missing the simple things and the ability to customise. My friends and I just wanted some eggs on toast or avo eggs on toast or a simple eggs Benedict. The only way to achieve this was to create our own plate out of sides.The ingredients were all beautiful and fresh but the bread was very overcooked and burnt. I always find it strange when you have to make the meal yourself, this would be fine if there was more room on the plate but it's like tetras just to put together eggs on toast.The matcha coffee was lovely and everyone seemed happy with their coffees ☕️

Not one to make a review, but Luke and Brandon were absolutely horrible last night. Worst service ever, they made a group of 15 of us leaving because they wouldn’t let in 1 friend- for absolutely no reason other to annoy us. Lucy, on the other hand was beautiful! Great service from her!

After a hard night of Zombie Killing, I was ready for something to sooth my soul. Having the walking dead chasing you, you can really build up an appetite and the need for some comfort.I'm so disappointed in the fact that I didn't take a photo of my meal. Not because I thought it was bad or disgusting. But essentially, because it was out of this world.... perfect for after my virtual zombie war.Pan seared snapper on a bed of cauliflower mash with grated zucchini and a sprinkle of black currents. Legit covered all of my 'if I'm paying for a meal, it better be worth it' criteria 1. Hot 2. Looks and smells good 3. Tastes good 4. Different textures 5. Decent portion (Doesn't have to feed a family, but sufficient enough that pudding is not required to stop me from eating my arm when I leave the restaurant). My favourite entree was the air fried broccoli. Simple yet delicious.The whole menu wasn't extensive, but when it's that delicious, why would you need more options.The atmosphere was pretty busy. Driving into the area was daunting as I had never been there or to that area (I should've looked it up beforehand). I walked past it without realising.It was hustling and bustling, full to the brim. Full of what seemed like 'Love Island' contestants..... my camouflage pants and tight black T were a stark contrast to the other patrons.We had an awesome booth, soft and roomy seats with a large enough table that we could order every entree and still have space for mains and drinks. Great music and vibe. I may be getting old but I'm not old enough to need hearing aids, but when I'm resorting to lip reading and sign language with the awkward nod pretending to hear what someone else is saying, you know the live music is too loud. Getting to and from the bathroom felt a little like a gauntlet. Passing through high bar tables and chairs with jovial individuals drinking made for an interesting game of dodge'ems.Great meal out, I'd go back for the food 100%. Just maybe not on a Saturday night when I am left with a phone number and an R18 picture on a coaster .... P.S. Steph, if you left your number for someone in the last booth on the right, I have a feeling they won't be calling you. Sorry.

Very beautiful setting to have a date or friends gathering. Burger, calamari and fries were top-notch. Chicken snithzel was not moist although cooked nicely.

Really loved my visit at Local in Burleigh - it's in a great location, service polite and quick (order inside or via QR code), they were flexible with substitutions on my order (swap bacon for halloumi) and they have a water station with sparkling and still filtered water. The vibe was good, the place was bustling!The only thing I would want improved was the Bloody Mary - it was bland and not very tasty but Ithe bartender might have had a day off!
