Didn't stay in the rooms so gave a 4 to be fair. Had a meal here on a Sunday & it was busy. The Hotel is lovely & has beautiful views but unfortunately there were a few issues with two of the meals & for the prices they overall weren't that great. One meal had to go back but saying that we couldn't fault the service in regard to this & it was dealt with very professionally. Lovely spot to spend an afternoon though!

Stopped in for a delicious lunch on a bleak, rainy day so there were not many guests dining. The view across the bay and calm atmosphere was very pleasant. Food was delicious as was the coffee .

A lovely old-become-new hotel. If you plan a family party there such as a wedding and you want to have all guests hosted, this should be a good place. If you are traveling and need a 1-night rest, it's good enough. It is definitely overpriced for what's on offer. The rooms are small and minimalistic. If you have the shared bathroom option, brace for some 80's feels. Very low budget bathrooms. Staff is friendly but understaffed when we stayed here. Direct access to Port Phillip Bay water edge does allow a morning dip within a very short walking distance. - Served its purpose but not coming back.

Beautiful casual dining. Family friendly. The staff were so smiley and friendly throughout. Food was absolutely delicious, probably the best chicken burger and wood fired pizzas we've had. Very impressed, we will definitely be back.

Stunning location and fast friendly staff.Meals were nice but for the price, i expected a better standard.Your paying to dine at a beautiful location, in a beautiful building. This makes it worth it, but it only just makes it over the line in the other areas.

Such a disappointing experience. I’ve travelled to the Portsea Hotel many times over the years and have always been rewarded with great food and service which this iconic hotel was renowned for but sadly this was not the case today. The service was non existent, there was no warm and welcoming service. It took 10 minutes to be served at the bar as there was only one staff member serving drinks and taking food orders on a long weekend with 100-200 patrons, for such an iconic restaurant and given it was a long weekend I found this astounding that there was only one bar attendant for so many patrons. After my meal I thought it would be quicker to order a drink through the table QR code, my drink took twenty minutes to arrive as there was only one person making drinks behind the bar.The food was very average, I ordered the prawn and mussel pasta and it was basically a bowl of pasta with a few prawns and mussels and hardly any taste. I’ve previously ordered seafood pasta dishes at the Portsea Hotel and they were delicious, sadly the seafood pasta I ordered was dismal. Another member of our party waited 20 minutes for his main after we had all been served our mains and when it arrived it was cold. We all agreed the food was very average. When we went to the bar to order a coffee after our meal we were told they could no longer take coffee orders as there was a backlog, once again only one staff member was making the coffees. So so very disappointed with the Portsea Hotel, we travelled a long way to come to the Portsea Hotel to celebrate a family birthday and enjoy the Portsea Hotel but the Portsea Hotel is no longer the fabulous establishment of the Mornington Peninsula it once was.

Restraunt review onlyKnown as a must see attraction within the outskirts of Melbourne. We had to check it out. Olden day looking inside but gave it a nice rustic look. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Prices were on the high size considering the small sizes. The chips were $12 for a small portion. Pizzas were nice but, a few more toppings could have helped. Won't be back, but still a must see place for the heritage and history behind it.

Visited in recent days for lunch. Disappointed on quality of our meals especially for the price. It took over half an hour for meals to arrive at the table when the hotel was a quarter full of occupants. Pizza's had barely any toppings and tomato base was more like juice dripping everywhere. Barely any cheese. Not worth the value especially paying extra for gluten free at $31. Only positive lots of polite staff. There won't be a next time here.

Review of the restaurant only.Buzzing atmosphere. Fresh seafood. Great flavours.Come early to save your spot! Anyone walking in after 1 PM might be turned away or looking at a long wait. However, it is worth the wait!We tried several dishes and everything was great, well seasoned and delicious. The pizza and mussels were exceptional.Service can be slow because they are very busy but the food still came out in good time. Self serve for cutlery, plates, water etc. Order from the bar for quicker drinks too.All in all, great spot and worth the drive! Will be back and highly recommended.

We went for lunch. We booked on line and asked for a nice quiet table. We sat at the front in a sun filled verandah table. Couldn't be more perfect. Service was friendly and quick. Food was great. Was a bit disappointed they didn't have a citrus tart on the menu but their Pavlova made up for it. Also we asked for extremely hot coffees and were served Luke warm ones.
