By Design Shutters

It might take several months to see the job done or like me you may never see those days. When I called him to ask after 1 month what is going on, he did not answer my phone calls. Once I called him 20 times in a day he still did not turn up. At the end I prepared all my documents to apply Tribunal and left him a message and made a complain to hipages. Finally after 2 months I received my deposit back. Each time when you call Crack his story changes once he told me he is on the way to get my blinds which was ordered from China. Once he said he has health issues. Other days he did not even answer my phone calls. When you go through the reviews you can see his feedback about himself :) and some feedback from people who have same surname with him. If you do not want to suffer like me, pay more but choose a good company.

I’ve been to the tribunal. And had judgement awarded against him, Craig Snelling, in his absence. On the 14th of November. I will be going to The local court to enforce that judgement.He did a great job 8 years ago for me. And took $5,000 from me. Without guilt or shame.

Unfortunately , have been trying to contact Craig as to where our shutter and awning order is up to for over a month. No phone calls returned. Have paid $2500 deposit and don't even know if they have been ordered for real. The order was done in August. They were promised to be installed before xmas 2021 and have had no contact from him and he has not returned any of our calls. When he had not returned our calls, I checked the reviews on his website page and they all told similar stories. Hopefully he will be in contact soon. Not impressed at least phone as to where the order is up to or give a refund, so I can reorder with another company. Until you make contact with us, I cannot reorder with someone else- what am I to do with 2 sets of window covering ? Assuming you deliver on your order.Update:Now the 11/7/22 and have made a complaint to both ACCC and Department of Fair Trade. Fair trade have noted his business as a concern for fraudulent behaviour and to have his business monitored for more complaints. ACC recommended that I lodge a claim with court system. Lodged this and had a virtual claims trial with NCAT to which he did not appear ( not surprised- Judge said that I can been scammed), but was issued with a notice of order for a full refund. Been almost 4 weeks and still no refund Have now lodged this paper work with the court system for the next stage to enforce this court order and the sheriff's office. Sent him a message about this, giving him the chance to amend it. No surprise there has been no reply. He cannot do this sort of dishonest trade. All previous customers that have not received their goods must report it to Department of Fair Trade so they have evidence against him. Have not given up yet on getting my deposit back.

Never never buy from this company or Craig, he is just a lier, he took 50% deposit on Apri 2022, and then disappear... no return call, no message, already reported to local police office and fair trading. I stronggly suggest people who paid deposit to him will need to report to local police and fair trading.

DO NOT ever consider using this guy! Like many others here, we have been ripped off by Craig the conman. Currently trying to recover our deposit through NCAT and the courts. Craig is defrauding people of their money and should be charged by the police.

DO NOT engage this company to supply and fit your shutters & blinds. I paid a $1930.00 deposit and Craig will not answer my calls. Poor form, atrocious customer service and obviously no conscience. If there was a minus 5 star rating, I would of chose that. To say I am angry is an understatement. How he even sleeps at night is beyond me.

Craig seems like a nice person, but he is obviously a crook. I paid my deposit for shutters in May 2021, In November after many messages and excuses, I cancelled my order and asked for a refind. Still waiting to finalise all this nearlya year later.

DO NOT USE BY DESIGN SHUTTERS EVER! Craig is the most unprofessional small business operator I have ever dealt with. We eventually got our shutters installed 10 months after we paid our deposit.Craig's communication skills are just putrid. I understand there would have been a delay due to COVID but 10 months is just a joke. Craig refuses to answer phone calls or reply to texts. The way he treats his customer's is just not right. Not once did Craig ever call me or email me to keep me updated on the progress of our install.On the rare occasion Craig actually answered the phone there was always an excuse to why he has not installed our shutters yet.After 10 months we informed Craig that we expect a full refund and will be lodging a complaint to fair trading Craig eventually installed our shutters.One positive is once installed they look great but what a nightmare experience.Our shutters were installed over a month ago and Craig refuses to email us our warranty information. Craig continues to not reply to phone calls and text messages trying to follow up.Do not hire Craig or By Design Shutters. His quotes are cheaper for a reason.

I would not even rate Craig a 1. We paid him 50% deposit for our shutters and 8 months now no installation and no product. He will.make excuses he hurt his arm, or blame it on covid. We have asked for a refund or will pay for the shutters and do own install. He said be has the shutters in his warehouse but why can't he come and install it. We have starred out application to submit application with ncat, fair trading and ombudsman.There is no integrity from this supplier, please do not use his service. You won't get your money back and won't see the product.

NEVER TRUST THIS MAN. Took a $2000 deposit and has never returned to complete the job. Craig has given every excuse under the sun and is now uncontactable. The quote was completed in April 2021. Fair Trading has failed to contact him also. Deplorable work ethic ripping people off left right and centre.
